Well Drones might not be as good on studio but it's got some massive live potential. At Download they bossed what could have been a bit of a 'strange' show (I use the word strange as Muse and Download were foreign to each other at the time). Matt's musicianship was sublime. And tracks like Reapers, Psycho, Mercy  and Dead Inside were ecstatic.

They really have sorted a live set list I mean look at their strength of back catalogue. Ever since The Resistance they been sorted and have been writing albums for fun, with current themes etc

I know that an album with the same status and quality of Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, BH and R would be desired, but writing the same album isn't what I want.

They get better and better live for me ever since I saw them for the first of 4 times in 2010. That's all that counts for me.

Never known anyone to call it that...

It's a bap btw.

I was being facetious really, I would say bap or roll. Batch is sometimes used around Cheshire / Staffordshire / Derbyshire area. I've got a lot of family around there, and they all say either batch or barmcake.

My problem with The 2nd Law is the tracklisting. I think the music is pretty cool, with a handful of great songs, but it feels like they ordered the album with the best songs / singles first much like a butcher's window. Almost as if they knew people wouldn't listen all the way through.

I re-sequenced the album myself, and only ever listen to that version - it's way better.

The butcher's window analogy is good. Most meat eaters like prime rib and quality sausages, but the demand for tripe and pigs trotters is pretty low.

Of course, you now need to post your own track listing, so everyone can try it and report back!

Unsustainable
Supremacy
Liquid State
Panic Station
Follow Me
Big Freeze

Prelude / Survival
Animals
Madness
Save me
Isolated System
Explorers

Sequenced in 2 halves because I'm a vinyl purist.

I also did some minor sound editing to tighten the gaps between some of the songs, specifically Unsustainable into Suprememcy, and Animals into Madness

While this is probably more coherent, that slide from a passable beginning into baffling, totally misconceived shittiness is all part of the fun of The 2nd Law. The bad ideas just pile up and up and it collapses completely in the most hilarious way.

Posts have come from a fan who is 'close to the band' saying that Muse will be performing a 10th anniversary show for Black Holes and Revelations at some point this year. Seeing as though the Origin of Symmetry shows were at Reading and Leeds after The Resistance tour, could this BHAR show be at Glastonbury after the drones tour?

I haven't actually seen the posts or anything, I've only heard/seen rumours etc.

I'd take this with a pinch of salt, but Hoodoo and Take a Bow would be wonderful on the pyramid.

Edit. Just realised that BHAR was released on the 28th June, It would be almost 10 years to the day.

If this is true it would add a little more appeal. The Origin show was the best I have seen Muse perform out of the 5/6 times i've seen them. It's a shame they didn't follow the same rule for Absolution though, which was probably their best piece of work to date.

Yeah BH&R in full at Glastonbury would be an awful idea. That's an 11 song run which the majority of the crowd will know 3 of.

If they didn't do Absolution anniversary shows I'm not sure why they'd do them for BH&R. Origin worked as it's the fan favourite, and I reckon they only did it because they needed a gimmick to prevent their Reading and Leeds booking from looking naff.

    • I am as well not a fan of these side by side stages. too many people at the same places and you have always people around you who wait for the other stage...
    • If only they could get the Bits area back (and add maximum 5k capacity) the site would feel less crowded.
    • Blame it on the side-by-side setup. There are cases where it works well - got a great location in front of the middle screen for Bexter Dury-Big Thief-Little Simz, just had to move about 20 meters each time for a great location. But on most cases it sucks
    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
