Fake Poster Thread

I'd settle for this, to be fair to whoever compiled this it's difficult to say it is nonsense, there's nothing I can see that's unlikely and no clashes with already announced tours?

With PJ Harvey, Tame Impala, ELO, The Coral, Hans Zimmer, Jason Isbell I doubt the real line up will appeal more to me.

Hans Zimmer is on a massive nationwide tour - totally plausible he could pyramid it in the afternoon.

and the darkness? Not impossible. Ridiculous, but not impossible.

With regards to Zimmer, Darkness, All Saints, Baby Metal and particularly Tenacious D I'm curious as to where you'd think they'd play. Majority of it seems very strong and very plausible. Just interested about where you had the few more leftfield suggestions down as being on the line up?

I didn't give this a massive amount of thought, but...

Zimmer - (massive Euro tour ending early June) pyramid afternoon, or West Holts headliner (his tour says band, orchestra and choir, so unsure the size of stage needed)

Darkness - (touring in the next couple of months - festivals in summer a possibility) low on the Pyramid, maybe late afternoon on other, or even night-time in John Peel.

All Saints (currently in the studio, expect an album soon-ish) - Low on the Pyramid, or maybe headline John Peel

Baby Metal (London in April, inexplicably at Wembley Arena) - definitely opening the Pyramid, maybe first act on Friday

Tenacious D (Doing Rock am Park and Rock am Ring in early June - very mysterious gap in their schedule on their web page on Monday 27th June!!!) - definitely Pyramid, hopefully on a sunny afternoon.

On a Monday?

  • 1 month later...

I've seen a few tweets tonight with people now thinking it's genuine.

Quality work from @maelzoid

I even tweeted it from The Thingy account, mentioned it was fake, linked it to the original post and got a response off someone saying they think that MAYBE it's not real.

The middle column of that poster especially is starting to look increasingly plausible, especially when you have the likes of ELO being predicted. And the likes of M83 and the Coral on there, I am sure this was before those bands started announcing any festival dates for this year. Fair play to whoever put in some much effort in researching the bands and designing the poster

Not sure where New Order fit into the poster though

The omission of new order is what really makes me think it's fake. Anyone who reads this site also knew there was a high possibility of those announced acts playing when this poster appeared. The rest is guesswork and many will play as they will be doing the rounds.

Well, this has gone well and truly viral. I only wish I'd proof-read it a little better. Years and Years (no ampersand) is bad enough, but Last Shaddow Puppets is unforgivable. In my defence, I can only offer that I was drinking at the time.

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
