Would love to see them, as long as they played their classics just as they sounded originally. Their latest release fucked around with all sorts of 'EDM' remixes. If I want to see Calvin Harris, I'll go to a Radio 1 Roadshow, thanks.

Yep. Remixing the original tracks to be more current is the worst thing they can do. I don't think they are that stupid though, are they?

No they don't do that type of stuff live, they only made that remix album as an excuse to release another greatest hits album of pretty much the exact same songs as the last one

Oh that's good to hear. I was worried they were going to down a very slippery slope. I love dance music, but hate all that Avicii bollocks.

  • 2 weeks later...

I seen them last night and they were absolutely fantastic, I'd much prefer an Other headline slot than a Pyramid sub due to the lights.

I did get speaking to a roadie though who told me that the only reason they're back together is a quick cash grab as Maxi Jazz needs the money to fund that new band of his to the extent that they're trying to save as much money as possible on the tour. All the lighting rigs are bought 2nd hand from Depeche Mode's and The Prodigy's last tours and usually the crew get like t-shirts saying "Faithless Crew" with a design on it or something for some memorabilia but they've decided not to do that and made everyone just wear their own stuff to save money. So I assume this next years festival tour will probably be the last we see of Faithless for a while

They headlined SW4 in August and were superb on what is possibly the worst stage for accoustics anywhere.

Have to be on after dark too as the lighting they use is immense.

I was about cloud 400 by the time they came on, it was absolutely euphoric

For this reason I see Glasto happening, not for the playing cash side of things but for the overall sales from it too.

Do they sound bad or something? Its not as if Maxi sings...

The music was fine, maxi was out of time and a shadow of his former self. Suppose you could ignore that and reach for the lazers.....

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
