LAWN, you cheeky arse! Are you yanking my chain?!

Von is a rare beauty that takes patience and time to love, but if you want to, you will.

Kveikur is mediocre at best...and you put it THREE places above the majesty, the phenomenal achievement that is (   )?!

Have you been at your Glastonbury stash two months early?!

:o

If Sigur Rós headline the park on the saturday, where dyou think Mercury Rev will play that day because they'll be on the saturday? I thought their popularity is kinda on the same level as Super Furry Animals and that they'd headline the park on saturday. Sigur Rós I see as a lot more popular than Super Furry Animals. Maybe LCD will headline West Holts on Friday and Sigur Rós headline the Other.

LCD are bigger than Sigur Ros though, especially now on this wave of reunion hype. Also what with Fatboy Slim seemingly confirmed for Saturday JP headliner I reckon that makes Underworld more likely for WH Friday headliner as to not make the JP headliners all 90s dance throwbacks (unless Underworld are doing an even smaller stage)

Saw Mercury Rev as a Park sub myself

  • 2 weeks later...

Yo I think I stumbled on something - need a second opinion...

When I do my self confirmation googling, the Sigur Ros Glasto page keeps coming up with the text June 24th 2016 in the blurb on Google's list. So after a few weeks I decided to check it out and, lo and behold, it says "Jun 24th 2016" in the source (you can even just Ctrl+F and find that the text is there, somewhere, invisibly) so is that like a hidden actual date or is it linked to one of the links or scrolling pictures they have? I would like it if it is that yes please.

Looks like you've sussed them. Bugger, was hoping for Saturday myself.

Here it is, Clashmaggedon 2016

EDIT: And on the page source that "Jun 24th" is in the same place as all the actual dates are on other pages. No doubt about it.

Well sleuthed, detectiveplan!

i can definitely see the '24' hidden on the page when Ctrl+Fing, so i think you may well have stumbled upon something, which is unfortunately not what many of us were hoping for :(

So they indeed seem to be playing on friday (you can try this by pushing ctrl+U in the web page)

    • Policing is very relaxed, provided you stay within your lines I'd say. I don't think we're supposed to have an event shelter as well as a tent next to our van, but we've done it without issue for years. It's a happy vibe up there.
    • Do feel a lot more cynical about the Mercury now. Given the awards show is now an arena event, there's clearly a pressure on them to nominate mainstream acts in order to sell tickets for it. And not saying that Jade and Knats don't deserve to be nominated (haven't listened to either), but the fact the event is in Newcastle can't have nothing to do with that... (not to mention Fender winning last year, which frankly was a joke)    Hard not to agree with this: https://www.clashmusic.com/features/this-years-mercury-prize-is-a-pivot-towards-the-mainstream/
