Surely they're too big for the park? They play arenas don't they?

Love SR, but they're one of those bands where one in 10 people will be big fans, and 7 out of 10 will hardly have heard of. In other words, they won't get much of the casual audience of groups of 4 or 5 friends trying to pick an act they might all quite like.

If they are at the Park, up against Adele and New Order and a WH headliner, then they won't get a huge crowd.

I don't get this Other headliner thing. Last time they played they subbed the Other, and they've fallen off a bit since then. They are a bit of a cult band really and they don't have any new material to give them a push (as far as i know), so I just don't think they're big enough for it. I like Sigur Ros by the way, I'm just being realistic.

yeah i think the Other headliner stuff was the thought they'd have a new album out by then, which they've pretty much confirmed they won't. it's just that the Park does seem a little too small for them imo, although i'd be more than happy if that's where they end up (just not vs. LCD Soundsystem)

I don't want them to clash with Adele personally so Friday sounds good.

I didn't want to admit this but yeah, me too!

Edit:  The Park is perfect for them.  Dunno how big a crowd they'd draw these days but the setting feels right to me.

Are they smaller now than in 2003? I've no idea but just figured given the size of their tour in 2013 that was their peak.

Tour dates suggest Fri for me.

Muse vs LCD Soundsystem vs Sigur Rós vs Underworld vs M83

3 of the 4 acts I most want to see clashing.

Edit: But at the same time Muse Fri, Sigur Rós Sat and LCD Sun (with Disclosure Other Fri) is perfectly within the realms of possibility.

Edit 2: With Radiohead subbing Adele to watch before Sigur Rós.

Big enough or not, there's no space for them to headline Other if Neil's info is right.

It looks like he might be wrong judging by the poster, but who knows. Park won't pay them enough I reckon and West holts is just wrong. Unless that's just become the stage for any old johnny foreigner, which would be a disaster.

They deserve the other stage headliner ahead of the likes of new order imo

I need to get into these properly now as I reckon they'll be my headliner one eve somewhere. Only know the odd snippet. Have been going to investigate for ages, but this will give me the kick up the arse I need.

Personally I'd say start with () but most people say agaetis byrjun.

I'm a bit torn on these though as you need to be in the right frame of mind for them as the music is a bit po-faced. I can easily see me ditching them depending on how smashed I am.

In fairness, New Order have got a hell of a legacy, a new album (which has been well received) and a lot of hits. I think they'll be more familiar to the 'floating voter', and they've written at least one absolute all-time classic (at least two if you count the Joy Division material).

Perhaps if they're up against Adele they could play the new, improved John Peel? I guess it depends how much larger they're making it. To be honest they do seem like Other headliners to me but the 'Could Headline Other' club is getting pretty crowded.

Aye I can't disagree with you. I see new order as more suited to second on the pyramid though really, for some reason

I refuse to believe that they would let LCD and sigur ros clash.

As of right now, i firmly believe Disclosure will headline other friday with Sigur ros on west holts. LCD headlining other stage Sunday with BMTH subbing. It has to be that shirley. SHIRLEY

Yeah you could make an argument for just about all the stages really!
