FloorFiller
just like 2014 and 2015, it ain't gonna happen. i'm sure he'll end up doing the legend slot in the next ten years though (if he's still alive to do it)
JoBalls
I'd happily see him headline! He's definitely got the hits for it, no question, as a closer to the festival it would be epic.
BlackHole2006
Sorry lads. Manilow has already bagged legends slot 2016. Cliff Richard for '17.
McCor
Bare in mind, this year (sorry, next year) we have 6 headliners. I cannot wait for the sing-a-long to Manilow doing "Mandy". Song of the weekend already claimed!

stuartbert two hats
How do we have 6 headliners? We don't. A stick has been grabbed by the wrong end. Either the one about the headliners being 'sorted' for the next couple of years or the one about The Other Stage being emphasised. Or maybe something else. But there are certainly not 6 headliners in 2016.
russycarps
there will be more than 6 headliners next year. Each stage will have 3 headliners over the course of the weekend. Just like every other year.

Just like every other year. Yeah, that's the other interpretation. There's either hundreds of headliners or three. Four at a push if we're including the legend slot now, but not six. Terence Fletcher
Having listened to Elton last night for the first time in years, I agree he would be much better as the Sunday night headliner closing the show, Saturday Night's Alright, Bitch Is Back, I'm Still Standing etc would be perfect show closing material. maelzoid
After seeing him at Bestival, there is no doubt he is a headliner rather than legend spot candidate. He, and his band were brilliant. I'm a big fan of his records and had never seen him live before, but I was quite overwhelmed by how good he was. Mardy
There's currently a BBC thing on Iplayer of him at the Eden Project earlier this year. His voice is a bit gone, innit? He's got the tunes, no doubt, but you know, he's not headliner stuff really. Not now. It's tricky he's a bit in between, not headliner, not from that performance, but not mid-afternoon either. Fuck knows. Bet he doesn't play. and the band, man they look hilarious, straight out of central casting filed under 'ageing has-been musos (+1 younger addition, probably the son of someone who died)'. You can almost feel the waves of bitterness, emnity and regret radiating out from them

stuartbert two hats
I resisted pointing this out Thank you. It feels better to notice my own stupidity myself. I was going to say I thought I was on the headliners thread, but I'm not sure that it would make me look any cleverer.

Thought it started off a bit slow but what a performance. I'm pretty sure he did at least two hours too. He probably could have filled 3 hours with the back catalogue he's got.
