Arrrggghhhh .... I have conflicting words beating each other up in my head. ;)

I keep confidence in my main Radiohead source because he has an impeccable record of being right with the occasional nuggets of info he's throw my way over a number of years.

But i have other things telling me that there's no UK festivals for Radiohead this year, and they're possibly right tho possibly out of the right loops for these sorts of things.

Have you tried your original source again to see if things have changed

kills me to say it but i think the original Radiohead guy may have had a bit of duff info this year and the second source(s) are correct. i just can't see where they'd fit in to the festival this year. surely the next time they perform (if ever) it'll be as a headliner and not just a constant slew of unannounced sets

Wouldn't surprise me if the Glasto situation has changed and it's not on. Or we're getting a secret set.

Yeah, no dice. There is no updated word.

Well, it's always possible - but he stressed he remains confident in what he'd heard, and he knows more about his info than I do. I only have his record to go on, and his record as always been good.

ah i didn't know (or can't remember) that he'd got back to you and voiced confidence in it. christ i just don't know. i don't think they're gonna be there but that doesn't mean i won't be scouring the lineup for possible secret sets of theirs and have my ears constantly open for word of one

Could it not be back to your original theory that both are right

Idle speculation has me wondering if they might have been an agreed back-up for Adele and as she's (supposedly) agreed they'll be doing next year.

Secret set seems more likely, tho it's hard to think where it could be done.

How about my theory of being booked as a sub, with the guarantee they will headline if Adele turned it down?

yeah there's no venue at the festival where this could be done and not be a health risk

this would be the ideal situation at this time but it just doesn't seem likely at all to me. Radiohead subbing Adele, playing to a field of people getting spaces for Adele. i just don't see why they'd agree to it, even if the original deal was that they'd be bumped up if Adele bailed. i think the more likely situation is that they agreed to play if Adele bails, but she didn't, so they ain't

Given that no one seems to have any idea of who's before Adele at the mo, that's a favourite of mine. It also fits with some general gossip I heard that Radiohead were lined-up to play a(nother) UK festival and then suddenly pulled out, which suggested a conflicting (to be) announced show.

However, it doesn't really fit with what I'm hearing now of no UK festivals, if they're subbing Adele. ... unless they're perhaps going to be unannounced in that spot till some point further down the line from the main announcement, maybe.

Could it be the case that they just aren't headlining any UK festivals?

maybe The Libertines thing went down so well last year that they're doing it again, although if there's a 'TBA' or 'Special Guests' slot under Adele, the secret's out almost immediately isn't it? most people knew it was The Libertines before they walked on stage but there was still some uncertainty, but most people would know it's definitely Radiohead months in advance. i guess the promoters don't really book acts and think 'shit what if it leaks' though so that may be a moot point. still don't buy it, but would love it to happen

Is this the info you had which made you think they weren't doing Latitude?

Because I don't know *exactly* what the person the info is ultimately from is considering, that's possible.

However, the words sent my way said 'no UK festivals' rather than anything about headlining, so I have to take them as that.

I'll be plunging straight into the deep end when trying to get my tickets, standing for the Saturday night. I hope everyone gets what they want, as long as i get my Saturday tickets of course ;)

i'm so uncertain as to which date to go for. i feel like trying for all three will only hamper my chances of getting tickets at all. fucking Glasto ticket day all over again. hopefully them coming out at 10pm during work time, at quite short notice and only on the mailing list tomorrow will mean they don't disappear in seconds

A special guest slot like the Libs last year surely? Cant think of anywhere else. Not much point having yet another secret set somewhere else, it would be too dangerous, especially as they have been rumoured to be playing for so long. And opening the Other Stage just doesn't feel right

    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.

    • Am a relative amateur in the ticket/tech shenanigans and not part of a large group etc. but personally preferred the F5 bashing approach and got through twice in recent yrs (plenty when didn't, mind) - 2023 but it crashed on me at the final hurdle and then again in 2024 where I held my nerve when it crashed again and managed to get.  Think now I am committed to volunteering if doing festivals as that's close to my heart, so happy to help others when the time comes round.   The most impressive I've seen was bus sales in 2022 when 2 mates casually bagged tickets while in San Sebastian, on a phone inside the stadium during a Real Sociedad v Man Utd game!
