Radiohead touring in 2016

Bit late to this party but brett has it with this.  It means their own headline shows, and not festivals.  

It is possible that they wouldn't headline the Pyramid at Glastonbury, but I very much doubt they would be billed and not headline it. They would headline every other festival in the world and Glasto is the only one I can entertain them not headlining but playing at.

More importantly Radiohead are back and I'm excited about them playing at The Roundhouse, and I'm excited about a new album, and I'm excited about the prospect of them playing Glastonbury

There were rumours that Radiohead could be doing a festival following these tour dates but i can confirm it is NOT IOW 16 Saturday headliner.

And gave them the same length set.  But only one act can play last, and the bigger draw at the moment is Adele.

To be clear, I don't think Radiohead will sub, but I think that's more likely than Adele playing and not being last on the Pyramid stage.

Radiohead are friends of the festival so if anybody was willing to take a lesser fee, it'd be them, but there's no way they're gonna play above Adele, the biggest act in the world, and although the fourth headliner thing was apparently attempted or at least talked about once before, Radiohead as a warm up for Adele just doesn't seem right

I can't see adele not been last, only way is if her management are happy for her to come headliner and think that the earlier slot would maximise the TV coverage as it will be prime time.

I think it's more likely that they'd do a co-headliner with a different band, maybe Muse? both friends of the festival and share a kind of similar fan base so wouldn't cause chaos with traffic

but then you've got the problem where both bands would want to play in the dark

I am very encouraged that Radiohead will play Glastonbury this year, and will headline the Pyramid stage on Saturday night

This is pure speculation, but here is the evidence

They are playing several large festivals across the world (as well as large arena shows), but so far are only down for 3 small gigs in the UK

They have a gap in their schedule during Glastonbury, and the comment 'announced so far' suggests there will be more festival dates

Emily Eavis hinted that the festival would be headlined by three British bands

If I am right then both Radiohead and Adele will be billed as coheadliners

There are definitely American festival headline shows to be announced (Outside Lands, ACL, Lolla) so, yeah, the weird wording just refers to their own shows.

I think you're overestimating Radiohead's appeal and severely underestimating the size and stature of Adele. The biggest artist in the world right now would not play Glastonbury as anything other than a headliner. Your theory had about 1% of merit to it a few months ago, but now it's completely impossible.

Radiohead are a huge band for sure, but in terms of current relevance and current appeal (which is what matters on the Pyramid stage), I wouldn't say they are significantly ahead of The Libertines and Pharrell, who both sub headlined last year. I'd rather them headline, but if both Adele and Radiohead are playing the festival, Radiohead will be the sub headliners. 

This would be much more straightforward if we didn't seem to have New Order locked in for Other stage headliner against Adele.

Adele is scared of the size of crowds, according to her, not of the pressure of headlining.

subbing, or indeed playing any other Pyramid slot, billed as headliner or otherwise, won't make any difference to her supposed nerves.

I could see them sub New Order (co-headliner, coin toss on the night for who goes first?) at a push.  Before Adele would be like the 'Nick Cave slot' except on the wrong day which could be interesting, I suppose.

Except none of this is happening.  We'll get a Thom dj set at 5am or some damn thing.

No it's not.  It's a band they hold in high regard.  A few years back when they were much 'bigger' they were embarrassed to be headlining above Pixies and legend has it they tried to swap spots.

I don't get the point of your comment. Surely you appreciate that when you are the Rolling Stones, you are pretty much always current and have mass appeal?
