Hi Guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I have had to make an account as I have got some info from a very reliable source. really sorry but I cannot reveal it but I would say I think it is very unlikely that radiohead will be subbing adele.

I am trying to find out who It will be but if what I have been told is true I would say it is very unlikely that it will be radiohead.

He's heard they might be playing somewhere although isn't as sure about that

Radiohead are soundchecking All I Need, Airbag and No Surprises.

Soundchecked Kid A and The National Anthem last night too which weren't played, so looks as though there could be a decent amount of rotation over the tour!

They're not exactly my favourite band and I reckoned I can watch Adele on the iplayer when I get home anyway. I might be being led up the garden path, of course, but I believe my mate who is, very definitely 'in the know' about such things.

in what way are they "in the know"?

does your friend work closely with Radiohead or GFL (or whoever the Saturday sub is)? because if not, then they probably don't know and are just repeating things that they saw online/heard from someone else.

lots of people think that because their friends work in the music business or media, that they have good info, when it has turned out time and time again that they don't have a clue. we've had lots of "in the know" information over the years turn out to be rubbish.

They soundchecked Kid A and didn't play it? That seems insane. There's all sorts of bits that they wouldn't need in any other song but they just have a rattle through for the fuck of it?

(Think I've read your post correctly, Dental, but...)

That's not particularly unusual for a touring band.

Does seem as though a lot of people 'in the know' are saying the same thing over the past 24 hours. Either they're all right, or they are all putting forward second hand knowledge from the same source (this forum for example).

Just seems very odd to me that all this is coming out, after a fair number of people were saying they were subbing Adele only on Thursday.

Think I'll give tonight a miss but ill keep checking here/reddit to see what's happening. Expecting a very different set tonight, although I imagine the AMSP tracks will stay the same.

    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
