aye Reckoner is very highly regarded. even one of my friends who isn't a Radiohead fan at all absolutely loves Reckoner. i keep telling him to check out their other stuff but he refuses, and just listens to Reckoner

More surprised by the lack of True Love Waits than anything else.

Perhaps, even though it's now committed to record, they still want to keep it a rarity at live shows?

yeah definitely. as i said above, making it a live staple now after all these years would be a bit weird. it's much better as a live rarity (if they ever play it again, that is)

How is TKOL STILL the third most played album at their shows?! Let it go guys!

If they took away Magpie and Bloom and added HTDC + Fake Plastic Trees i'd call it a pretty close to perfection setlist.

I am sad about the lack of True Love Waits and feel underwhelmed by the set list. Was hoping for more of mix from various albums. But hey, I'm sure on Friday I will feel different.  I also suffer from set list envy at gigs, I always think another night has the better set list. Set list envy is the worst!

aye i'm dreading seeing the two other London dates setlists as i just know there'll be a song or two on there that will have me weeping. interested to see what songs get swapped around on this tour and which are mainstays

Maybe that's why they finally wanted to get it down on record? Because they don't plan to play it again? Closure for the song, basically.

yeah could well be, although as that stream clearly showed (along with us since the album release), pretty much everybody is now expecting them to close the shows with it

You mean, until Thom ends their Glastonbury set with the acoustic version of it and the Pyramid field is belting out the lyrics? Then it's never played again.

:D

gotta say, based on that set just then, my faith in them subbing Adele has gone down somewhat. not exactly playing a casual listener friendly set are they? of course they could switch it up for Glastonbury, but i have my doubts, especially string section-less (unless of course they bring that along for the festivals)

Fully agree. I think until they've done a festival set it will be difficult to say. Mix that with that we should have more of a full line up for Glastonbury soonish. We can either put the rumour to bed with a full on no or continue in circles. I predict we continue in circles with no answer on if they are playing!

I would prefer a headline set next year. I know I don't have a ticket for next year but still....

My faith has definitely taken a battering today based off of Neil's info, but I don't think the setlist influences it at all. I doubt they will play a setlist like that at NOS Alive for example.

We'll know more after tomorrow to see if they are playing any more 'user friendly' songs on this tour.

I can't believe these fuckers leave out a song they've been teasing for 20 years, and yet still play the fecking Gloaming. I mean it's a good track, but no ones ever been on their way to Radiohead gig and said 'I really hope they play The Gloaming'.

They must do it on purpose.

In mixed minds of that setlist, some great stuff on it but some I could really take or leave tbh. I hope they don't play the first 5 songs in that order for the rest of the tour or whether it was just to lead everyone on for that first gig. Also, no more Daily Mail, please :(

Well, at least it means they can play slots where they don't need space to assemble an orchestra.

I'm predicting (not based on that, just was anyway) they're simply gonna do another Park secret slot like the last two times, but this time it'll be really heavily stewarded and closed off during the band before or something.

To be fair, if the non-AMSP songs are rotated with others on the other dates they could end up with, say, 10 casual friendly (as far as Radiohead sets go) songs plus 5 or so AMSP songs to make up a passable sub setlist.

Say, from tonight, there is There There, My Iron Lung, EIIRP, Bodysnatchers, Paranoid Android, Reckoner..

Some of these/any of the other non-AMSP songs could be rotated with the likes of Planet Telex, Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit, Karma Police, Pyramid Song over the coming shows.

Stick that lot together with Burn the Witch, Daydreaming, Ful Stop, Identikit and The Numbers and they'll be fine.

We have to remember they're headlining a load of festivals this Summer, too. Any setlist they deem suitable for those festival shows I think they'd deem suitable for Glastonbury, regardless of whether they're subbing Adele or not.

I can't say where I got it from but Radiohead will definitely NOT be subbing Adele. Somebody else has that slot apparently, although my friend flatly refused to tell me who it would be as it is genuinely a huge secret about what is happening just before Adele.

That's not to say they won't be performing elsewhere or at another time during the festival - I can only tell you what I was told about the Adele subbing thing.

i think the belief of them bringing along the orchestra was a big part in me thinking the sub slot could work. i mean, Radiohead fan or not, hearing stuff like The Numbers backed by an orchestra on the Pyramid would be impressive as hell. the stripped back versions they played tonight? not so much. maybe they'll do something different for the festivals, but as they showed with their Coachella sets in 2012, they're quite happy to stick to what they've been doing for the rest of the tour whether the crowd like it or not

Are you telling me that the Macklemore dream is over?

Neil said a similar thing earlier. It's either true or people are trying to be thrown off the scent due to all the info leaks yesterday. Only time will tell.

It's beautiful but I don't think they'll play 24 songs at festivals

If you swap Decks Dark and Daydreaming I totally agree with you!

    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
    • Not expecting a tour imminently but Peter Gabriel would fit the vibes magnificently.
    • I have but a very long time ago and can remember nothing about it at all. Which I suppose is a review of sorts
    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
