Alphabetical is an album by Phoenix. Phoenix is a mythical bird that is periodically re-born. I reckon this album marks the end of this phase or Radiohead before they are reborn as a drum and base collective. Then a barber shop quartet. Then a dance troop. Before going out on a high as a barn storming, country and western band.

Either that or the track ordering is largely coincidental. 50 / 50 I'd say.

I need to buy a Berlin ticket it seems. Give us stage splits soon so I can see if there's a gap before Adele. If not then it's Berlin. I can't not see them now.

Wasn't expecting the album to be this amazing ffs. Probably listened like 6 times now and atm I have it 4th down on my list, slotting in between Kid A and The Bends. I keep thinking I may even prefer it to Kid A, then I think what standout tracks Kid A has and decide it can't be. Maybe once I've heard this album more and decide on which new tracks are Radiohead stand outs I'll be able to allow myself to place it above it. Sounds dumb but makes sense somehow to me.

Then again The Bends has The Bends and Fake Plastic Trees on it. Fuck me. Radiohead.

If they do play this slot, there is no chance they would play a full new album set. Even Radiohead wouldn't try that.

If they play Pyramid, it's going to be a beautiful set list across the majority of the albums.

I've seen the documentaries on Channel 5 where people have been in relationships with cars, tables etc -  I'm now looking into the possibility of becoming legally marriee to an imaginary setlist on a festival forum.

Maybe there is something to Neil and Scott's jokings about them playing a late night slot in Shangri La. The thing about the H and S issues is that the SE corner has the queuing system - on top of that at one point last year security were not letting people go from Glasto Latino into The Common because of crowding. Point being they can effectively 'close' the area if they need to.

That's it - despite (or rather because of) how crowded it gets round there, they have very effective crowd control measures in place.  It's not like The Park.

A friend of mine (who we are going to Glastonbury with) was told by a music promoter friend of his that he's had it on "good authority" that Radiohead are subbing Adele.

I have absolutely no idea how reliable any of the sources are here, but I thought I would share.

She says about 1:30 in "Expect guests, but in the middle of the night on some of the far reaching corners of the site other than programmed on the park stage." I've put 'programmed on the park stage' in bold here because it shows she is definitely thinking of Radiohead circa 2011 there when she is thinking of special guests (or Pulp but Pulp are pretty irrelevant this year). Why isn't she thinking of some recent special guests Glastonbury have had like Kaiser Chiefs or The Charlatans and saying "programmed on the Other stage" instead? Because she is subconsciously thinking of Radiohead when she's thinking of the special guests this year. Chances are they might be playing in the middle of the night and I can't wait.
