I agree.  Just because Other got a new rig (funnily enough the field was the same size) last year, everyone seems to think JP will be the biggest tent in Europe or some such when it moves.

Actually, if I had to bet, I'd say they would replace the tatty old JP tent in its current form, but it won't be significantly bigger if at all.  I also wouldn't be remotely surprised if it was literally the same tent, just moved.

I think there is some sort of plan to replace the tent, but you are right its going to be about the same size as far as audience goes. The same as the other stage still caters for the same size audience just with a 'better' stage.

My guess, slightly clearer sight-lines for the audience and acts will be able to rig more stuff/have more room to customize it a bit.

Saturday Other is The 1975 -> Chvrches -> New Order, I think.

Don't kill my Chvrches in the JP dreams! :(

They had one hugely successful album and toured arenas off the back of it but I suspect nobody's that fussed anymore. Which will be reflected in their placing.

nah you're underestimating how much people like shit music. they haven't even released their second proper album yet but when they do they'll shoot right up to the top and be pissing everybody off again

Although I am quite sad by their demise, I've had most of my upvotes in the last 12 months from slagging off Bastille.

I suppose there's always The 1975, but they seem to have done the opposite trick by releasing a much better album.  Not that someone with my exquisite tastes would ever listen to it ;)

So do we reckon LCD are headlining other on Sunday? I was hoping for Friday because I dont think I can I can get out of seeing Coldplay :(

Neil had info that they're on the Friday, but Mr. Bastille has said they're subbing Disclosure on the Friday, so basically nobody has a clue

That is very strong to have The 1975 there.

bastille were third on main at Reading. they were a secret act in williams green last year

also beck are headlining fold festival in london on the sturday, Beck could play earlyish in the day then head over?

They were but it was a secret set so doesn't really matter. RH, Biffy, Pulp etc played Park sets they were too big for.

That beck London date is interesting ?

In what way?

I think it means he probably isn't a sub headliner, but I didn't think that anyway tbh. I guess he'll be on before Foals or Ellie Goulding.

Nemone has just been speculating about a RH secret set on 6music.

I wonder if it could be a TBA deal before Adele? It'd be a pretty bad secret though in fairness. The second they slap a 'special guests' or 'tba' on the lineup it's going to be fairly clear who it is.

Do your think secret set could just mean special guests , it does look odd with beck that high

I dunno if I'm deluding myself, but I reckon the bit of the poster that has 'Beck' in it once upon a time had another name there, and Stanley decided to fill it with a favourite of his.

Beck does seem weirdly high up, I'd have expected him to be down with LCD, Discloure, PJ Harvey et al.

Wait are you implying that Beck is going to "drop out" and be replaced...?

no, just that Radiohead may be added at a later date rather than in this initial poster and the artist chose to just put Beck in that huge vacant spot amongst the subs

Gotcha. It just sounded like clutching at straws this way around so I tried to reinterpret it. Clutching at straws squared!

Would love it to be RH. If they subbed, it wouldn't quite be that magical moment of headlining the Pyramid. I'd definitely be there though.

This is the official clutching at straws thread, it's what we do.

    • went to their album launch show last night at the george tavern. it was fantastic! absolutely roasting in there though
    • I got mine yesterday but they sent the wrong ticket link, so had to email Ticketmaster and get the right one.    As for predictions, hard to see who else could do the Pulp/Sting/Byrne slot other than the Cure, and since they did Isle of Wight they maybe have an FR deal (Sting did both). It’s also the Cure’s 50th next year so imagine they’ll be doing a bigger tour. Pet Shop Boys or Kylie maybe?   Wolf Alice would be a dream. It’ll probably all be men again though.
    • Probably a couple of months yet....last ticket sale announcement was 10th October 2024.
    • watched Mystic River for the first time, overall i thought it was superb.   good shows from the three leads, well made, interesting and pretty solid all round.   a minor character moan tho - i thought the "Savage brothers" were ridiculous, they were like cartoon villains and kinda took  you out of the movie abit with their dastardly antics.   also, i hated, and i mean i HATED the ending.   there is a scene where Kevin Bacon is talking to Sean Penn in the morning after the night everything happens, and he says to him "when did you last see Dave"... then we get a close up of Sean Penns face, and you can see the cogs going round and he is struggling to decide what he is going to say... if the screen had cut to black at that moment it would have been the perfect ending... everything that happens after that is totally pointless and just detracts from the great movie you have just seen.   but i liked it. can't actually believe i never saw it before.   🙂
    • I’ve also got a media contact who gets hospitality tickets, he says their allocation of them is slightly reduced this year. The few Off site ultra expensive glamping/hospitality ticket packages mostly sold out a while ago. Some just after the 2025 festival ended.
