I'm not entirely convinced they will headline next year if they don't play a prominent slot this year. They've had many chances to headline since '03 and for one reason or another, it hasn't worked out. I just wonder if they either don't want to, or for some reason the Eavii don't see them as a Glastonbury headliner anymore. Who knows.

After seeing all the miserable middle aged men moaning that Adele isn't a Glastonbury headliner and how they are never ever going to the festival again, just makes you wonder if Radiohead have been booked as a 'Special Guest' or something along those lines to appease the whiners? Radiohead into Adele on Saturday would cover just about every base. After the faff over the past few years with headliners and given Adele's comments about people thinking she's boring, they clearly anticipated a negative reaction from some quarters.

Basically, no. No, no, no and no. 

Most people haven't said Adele isn't a Glastonbury headliner, the general consensus is just that in combination with the other two headliners, they're all quite boring bookings. I very much doubt they'd book Radiohead as secret guests to appease anyone - especially given that Radiohead's two headline performances are part of Glasto folklore.

For a start I never said 'most people'. It's not an overwhelming majority, but it's certainly the sentiment from a certain section of fans. 

Also, it's not necessarily a case of 'appeasing' people (bad choice of words on my part), it's a case of booking a well rounded lineup to appeal to a wide range of people. There's clearly a significant group of people disappointed that Radiohead aren't headlining and those people tend not to be Adele fans, so booking Radiohead before Adele would please everyone. 

As long as there's word Radiohead will appear (which there is) and there is no concrete name rumoured to playing the sub spot on Saturday, it's entirely possible.

How can Thom Yorke be pissed off like fans at London tickets that thousands missed out on when they only put 9,900 on sale in a tiny venue......with no hint that touts will not be able to sell them on?

I don't think Radiohead were ever in the running for this years headliners and I don't think they will be next year. Adele has been quoted as saying she wanted to do Glasto last year so it's not even like her being asked so early for it was ever really in a massive, 'we need a replacement if she says no' situation. Coldplay and Muse I imagine was simple as it got, but I do think Muse was just an easy safe option as they would still be touring and probably knew Foo's would be unreachable. Emily did say in a couple of years for them I guess.
