Promote motorhead to headline that day, far more worthy then most, they have more then enough material to pull it off and itd be a way to still ensure the day ends with a noisy rocky act who will pull no punches.

Stupid idea. 10% would enjoy it, 90% would stand around bored waiting for Ace of Spades. It's ok as a bit of a novelty for an hour during the day but people are unlikely to want to stick around with it for two hours at headliner time.

Why all the talk of blur? I dont see how their anymore likly then any other bsnd with free dates......not only that but due to damons current voice issues with his throat hes not likly to want to do another long set.....so reslly that makes them less likly doesnt it?

Week between IOW and BST and another week between BST and Glastonbury. Plenty of time to rest the vocal chords.

They're discussed because they're available, rehearsed, they have the chops to headline and would be willing to step in at late notice.

There's really not that many acts with free dates, currently touring who are big enough. Damon definitely classes as a "friend of the festival", they'd please most punters and have new material since the last time they headlined. Damon had voice issues on TFI but if it's just a bit of laryngitis it shouldn't be too big a factor for Glasto, especially since they're doing Hyde Park this weekend.

I really hope it's not Blur, I missed them in 2009, but planning and work meant I had to leave early! This is the year I see a top headliner in SFA at the Park, it was so easy! Anyway I reckon Flo will be bumped up. Or perhaps SFA to the Pyramid, you never know.

They'd have to play a set with the songs that at least 1/5 of the crowd have heard of, so it would have to be that 'Ace of Spades' song 15 times in a row.

Bump up Hattie Hatstar, bump down Kanye, switch John Otway to the Legends Slot, switch Steel Pulse to the John Otway slot, Dreadzone for the Sunday Reggae Slot, Sunday Reggae Slot swapped for the Sunday Legends Slot, Morris Minor and the Majors bumped up to the Friday hip hop slot, keep Mik Artistik level pegging, break through Flo, nail on Biggles, Beyonce in the Beyonce slot and Coldplay to man the Growler Van. Sorted.

If they don't announce today, my guess is Blur but they can't announce until after BST. If it's a florence bump up some sort of announcement could surely be made today??

Maybe.

For Flo... Depends on how long it takes to renegotiate the fee, get the amended contract signed. Edited by paulo999

I'd be happy with either Muse or Biffy or Blur. I want it to be rocky as I want my rock fix at glasto, still.

I'm annoyed Foo's cancelled Wembley as I was looking forward to them and Royal Blood. I wasn't planning on seeing them at Glasto but disappointed for their fans there.

BUT, It's quite exciting knowing we've got another headliner incoming (hopefully).
