This thread is a real Aladdin's Cave of info.

It's good to get everyone's opinion on the various venues.

Most nights last year we ended up either in Shangri La (one night taking part in a Chinese New Year type celebration) or The Common.
Two night we were in The Rum Shack and one in The Temple... good craic although I was in a state one night.

Went to Genosys the night of L'il Louis but I was pretty disappointed.

Shouldve gone to NYC Downlow or London Underground for longer than we did.

This year I'll definitely spend a night or two up by the Park and a night near Williams Green.

Although come 4am, no doubt the feet will automatically start walking back towards the beats in SE Corner!

After reading some of this, I am set up for Thursday starting at Baggy Mondays, heading to the Silent Disco at Silver Hayes and then onto Guilty Pleasures at Williams Green. I'll probably check out Chameleons and Kasbah one night and Buttoned Down Disco too.

I've tried to get into NYC Downlow a few times... well by tried I've looked at the queue and thought "fuck that". When is a good time to get in?

Anytime, if the drag queens like the look of you. I've seen them pull men (+friend) out of the queue and personally escort them inside.

I've accepted that the SE corner is not for me at night. For a couple of years I felt like I was "failing" at Glastonbury for not enjoying it there at night like everyone else seemed to be. Once I accepted it wasn't for me, I've had loads of fun elsewhere. All those crowds and queuing and being herded along...It's not for me. There's loads going on elsewhere I've come to realise.

For those considering Baggy Mondays - get there early! It's extremely popular and can be a bit of a challenge to get inside if you arrive late.

Very true, we usually time it well but last year it was a nightmare, I'll be there earlier this time

I plan on exploring the Common a lot more this year I've not seen a great deal around there

Went to a place called Acid Lounge last year (not to be confused with Bez's Acid House, it's further on) and it was fantastic. Went for a Primal Scream DJ set and the atmosphere in there was amazing. Definitely going back there this year

After years of never really finding anywhere (apart from an unplanned stumble across the silent disco) I think our group need to plan to do an area each night, rather than get obsessed with finding what we have been failing to find in the SE corner.

Choose one night to go to SE when we can go a bit earlier I think, and check out the other areas such as the Park on other nights.

The stumbling aimlessly around the SE corner has been done to death with us.

Another shout for Pussy Parlure here as well. Had a brilliant night there in 2013 after The Stones had finished watching The Bombay Royale who play fantastic bollywood infused disco/surf/funk music if anyones interested. Great place.

Saw them on West Holts that year and they were an awesome backdrop to lying in the sun with a cider.

I'm hoping to explore The Common this year but not sure they'll be playing the music I'll be wanting at that particular point in my night. We did a couple of hours at Arcadia after headliners last year before finishing up at Heaven and Block 9. Had the best night ever. I guess you just need to go there without too high expectations.

Drugs also help.

A couple of my not-so-easily-impressed friends were picking their jaws off the floor when we walked into that field last year. It's pretty special to say the least.

Gonna make sure I go this time. Think part of problem is I just stumble into the area leathered, the first bit I come across is the part where that diner and Bez's Acid House is and I just end up in that bit everytime. I need to make a different turning at some point I believe

Surprised nobody has mentioned the Small World Solar Stage.

When it gets dark it's lit by candlelight, which creates a lovely intimate atmosphere. Acoustic music until sunrise, serving Brandy Hot Chocolate in real mugs.

It's a great option for those of us who can't keep up with the Car Alarm music in Block 9 etc.

I'm all over that this year! great tip

As has been said for me I never head to the SE right after the headliners finish anymore it feels like its a destination to be tucked off people's list I now head to somewhere like Williams green or Avalon inn till 1:30-2 then head to the SE still busy enough for atmosphere but not a crush.

Before the headliners finish, but there will always be a queue. Trust me, it's worth it. My favourite place of all time.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
