I love this thread. I've never made it out past 1am after a failed attempt at getting into Shangri-La in 2010, where I had a panic attack in the utterly insane queue. Never been the same with crowds since.

Determined to make it to the naughty corner this year, no bands I want to see on Saturday night so I'm hoping to avoid the crush in the queues and head that way!

Edit: Actually, for my peace of mind, just how easy is it to get out of Shangri-La if you need to?

I started a new thread that basically asked the same question as the OP here (but worded terribly). These recommendations are all so helpful - do you guys think the same things will be going on this year? Any new ones/new recommendations from last summer?

Thanks :)

Good thread on this recently, here:

Ah this looks great - thanks for the pointer. I'm writing a list which I feel is not necessarily very 'Glastonbury' but I do so like to be prepared with my fun

Don't worry I have a folder in my phone dedicated Glastonbury lists, preparation is very important.

Fairly easy as its a one way system pretty much, you'll be with the flow of traffic should you need to get out of there

I only used the one way system once last year on the Sunday and there was no queue at all. The rest of the time we managed to get in all of the areas off the old railway track but they were rammed when we got in.

Thursday night - circus field for some performance the wife wants to see then Wheel of Fourtunes.

Would recommend swinging by this. I did it last year after it was recommended on here and was a good laugh (for the Thursday night).

Also, for nightlife generally, I would choose where you go each night based on what headline you're watching before.

So I'll do the naughty corner Friday this year, as my headliner is on West Holts, then Arcadia Saturday as I'm at the Other, etc.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
