Better to be ahead of any potential bad weather than trying to catch up.

also if it’s dry the dust it kicks up gives a magical view of the late evening pyramid stage on tv.

They can put it down really quickly though. With no bad weather on the horizon I don't get them doing it so early when it possibly won't be needed.

Not sure why they kept getting so excited with the woodchip the last couple of years in good weather. It's hardly like it's the stuff you get in kids play areas either, you could probably build houses with it. Really annoying to walk on.

It's literally been construction waste too in the last few years.  Actually surprised they've got away with it.

There has been wood with nails sticking out of it.

Just like any project management, that man power will most likely be needed closer to the festival when the pace picks up. They are doing other tasks whilst they wait for that final rush.

I suspect why they have put woodchip down is to discourage people sitting down that close to the stage. I wasn't there in 2023, but wasn't one of the big issues with the elton john crowd was that there loads of people sitting down until he came on?

Ah, could make sense.  I just wondered if it was a public area I hadn't been to before.  Cool looking crew bar, if that's what it is 🙂

Yea it’s a good one, probably the most pub-by of all the staff bars. They had tvs to watch the euros last year. Plus nice canteen
