Hope they don’t put a load of wood chip down like last year.

Agreed.

If I remember correctly it was put down because they thought we were due a deluge of r**n pre festival?

Hopefully there’ll be no such nonsense this time around.

The rain was really bad at the end of May, I remember some of the late May festivals having crisis talks. Mighty Hoopla in London was a huge mess a few days before and they also hammered the woodchip.

It wasn’t woodchp as I understand it normally is. Some of it was pretty big!
Took a bit home as a souvenir (I know that’s sad} and keep it in our garden. Here it is next to a pound coin for reference.

😊😊😉😉

Yes, some of it was obviously construction waste.  A bit naughty.

Saw some bits with nails sticking out!

Went for a walk on Friday on the footpaths around the farm - so exciting to see the build in progress and so much activity. Had the dog so couldn't sneak too far off where I wasn't meant to be

I will go another few times through May and June mainly because there are great walks around there for the dog and the Crown is a lovely place for a cider and whatever food they happen to have on!

I assume they're ok with people using the footpaths still, I wonder when this changes - I thought they were officially closed from April

Looks like the first of the white tents to the right of the Pyramid (cam view) are going up. I’ve always been curious about this one in particular. The ones closer to the Pyramid are artist hang-outs before they play, I think, but this one is different. Is it like a reception area for people to check in at before going any further?

Don't know for sure but I would assume it to be some kind of reception / security checkpoint. Once things are underway, it almost acts as a gatehouse to the tour bus parking.

Yes, looks like the reception into the artists inner sanctum. Or maybe showers and bogs?😉😊

Yes certainly activity round Glastonbury on Sea....a place I'm still yet to really get. Perhaps I've just not given it long enough and missed all the good things going on there as often just paying a visit as I pass

Not a destination if you’re on the other side of the site imo, but a must-see if you’re at the Park. Just because it’s a real labour of love.

It's great if you like old school pinball tables.

If you're keen on the old machines, here's a Radio London interview with Mr Pinball. It's a bit London biased but G-on-Sea gets talked about too.

If you like retro arcade games and pinball machines and find yourself in Barnsley over a weekend can do dad worse than spending some time in here.

No link to Glastonbury but it's not every day you stumble on people talking pinball

Every time I’d pass I think, I must go in. I look at the queue and think, I’ll come back…I’ve yet to actually go in! Maybe this year!

It's great if you can get sat down and have a few hours in there, tbf the lines always looked mad but move quickly.

Weirdly it feelt 10x busier last year than 2023, we played Bingo there in the sun and had a candy floss.

I think it's a brilliant installation, they've nailed it.

Should really make a concerted effort this year alright...haven't ever made it up the ribbon tower either!

    • Sure enough I did finish the Brosnan Bonds. Goldeneye is good but I think might be overrated by some Bond mega-fans, The World Is Not Enough is ok but nothing more than that and Die Another Day is just wild. I didn't hate Die Another Day like some have but its basically a wacky sci-fi film with Bond movie clothes.
    • Monaco comes across to me as something that's great for just watching people driving around, especially this year as it feels like this is a track where they can actually push compared to other circuits where superclipping ruins it, but where the cars seem to have outgrown it.   Though tbf Formula E has had decent Monaco races recently so maybe its a sign of car development philosophy being a factor.
    • Feel like a lot of people do just sit around by the stage at a festival waiting for one act anyway, no? I know Swift has a big mega-fandom - she wouldn't have done so many Wembley shows last year if she didn't - but it's not like she'd be unique in playing a festival and drawing a crowd on that specific day just for her.   But then tbf I feel like there'd be a few happy just to mosy around the rest of the site until maybe 2/3 acts beforehand.
    • Pretty good imo. Though I'm aware my position of being a big fan means I'm biased.   Reminds me a little of Justice, which shouldn't be that much of a surprise given I've heard Justice played a lot in Muse's pre-show playlists over the years.
