I sometimes wonder to what extent the dairy farm is still active.  When I first went to glastonbury in the late 90s the fields were liberally scattered with bin lid sized dry cow pats.

It's still very active, and has won awards in recent years. They just clean the fields more than they used to ahead of the festival.

They’ve taught the cows to use the long drops, that explains the absence of pats, and they don’t leave empty cider cans either😉😊

I think they have to be removed from the fields for a length of time before the festival so the cow pats decompose.

All that (bang average) Worthy Farm cheddar is made from milk extracted from the Pyramid stage cows.

Do they?  I thought they just stayed at the Pyramid all the time... like the Sunday 'lawn chair' people! 🙂

I remember Other stage and Pennards Hill being used for wheat/grains before.

If they wandered into the SE corner the cheese could be sold in tenner bags 😉😊

I never thought that cheese was any good (I thought it was horrible, in fact) until I bought a block recently for the last cheese competition and made some cheese on toast with it rather than just throw it in the garden for the fox that visits every night. It was really good toasted!

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
