Looks like work has started on the pier? To the left of the ribbon tower

Isn't that the location of the long drops?   The pier would be further left as we're looking at it I think.

Looked at the map and I think you're right - got over excited!

This guy does pretty cool Glastonbury vlogs and he's just put up a video with site updates and stuff for those who are interested.

Can someone literally tell me how many times he literally says literally before I literally decide to literally watch it?

I was worried there for a minute but he pulled it back to a respectable level. I literally hate when people use literally when they don’t mean literally.

The English dictionary was recently amended to include the term "literally" to add emphasis to something in addition to its original use, "to mean something in a literal manner". What a time to be alive.

Do previous year's bins get re-painted?

Yes, I’ve always thought that would be a great job to do, must be tremendous camaraderie, fun and let your creative side go crazy. The artists must be on site well before the festival. We always appreciate them. Unfortunately I can paint and my drawings are like a 5 year old!

The majority are on site 2 & half weeks before gates open painting all the bins, poles, benches & murals (on the wristbanding stations). Core team (Hank etc) are there a bit longer as they do the colour wash of the bins / remove broken ones etc.

Bet they have a blast. Visiting the area last year I saw a few ‘rogue’ bins at the side of the tithe barn just outside the site. Those benches are a godsend for tired feet!

Tiny Spoiler but not really.

With the cement trucks that have been seen over the last few weeks, it seemed pretty clear they were putting foundations in, this confirms it. Makes it sound like it's going to be rather substantial.

Your zoomable panoramas, were they taken with the same camera and also toast, or will they be forthcoming over the next couple of months?

The zoomable panoramas are back! They're on a different, good quality SLR.

I would think that between the rabid viewers on this site we could fund a new one via a contribution site.

That's very kind, but now the Glastonbury webcams work, I don't think what I can see - which is quite a distance away - will be any better than those really.

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
