Some friends went for a wander there a few weeks ago and the crane was there then. FYI. #CraneReport

But what was said crane doing, apart from sitting there?

Half a story. <_<

I would love to think that but bloody expensive way of doing it?  We need a crane expert.

Heavy banner? Has to cope with wind? Funny looking crane as can't see a counterweight...

Not an expert but it looks like a self erecting tower crane which have the counterweights at the base of the crane. Remote controlled from ground level, so no Tower Crane Driver to get lonely, with limited lifting capacity they're normally used where there is limited space so I've no idea why they need one in the middle of a field.

You sound like a crane expert.

It's probably got something to do with the works they were doing a few months back at the farm.

Yeah this is my thought too as when I was there in August they were still doing works there and judging by the cam its the same place so should be connected. I'm struggling to think which area it is from memory though- maybe Hawkwell or Michael's mead as both of those were on a hill
