There's some very densely wooded areas inside the fence, what would be the chances of someone sneaking in now before the fence goes up and living there for the next 3 weeks, I mean obviously they'd need a few twixes, but other than that, doable?

Edit: Obviously I would never dream of such a thing, just asking for a friend ;)

Just remember to bring some Twixes

Apologies if you feel I was having a go at you, I really wasn't. It was just an opportunity to post the video. If it helps, I'll buy you at pint at the efests meet.

Do keep posting.

Lady Gaga is on site. Currently having a little sit down in front of the Pyramid, imagining what her Sat sub performance looks like from the crowd perspective.

Yesterday I watched somebody's Glastonbury home video from a few years ago in which they spread the ashes of one of their friends on a sapling up there, it choked me up quite a bit.

Imagine the feeling of seeing that grow into a mighty tree at Glastonbury, going back to it every year, wow.

North of Bristol there's a place where where you can do that too.  It's lovely to go somewhere and see life springing up or changing over the seasons.

It might just be the angle, but although the new other stage looks like the R&L stage, I swear it looks wider, either way it's massive, just like the previous one.

Could be a bigger version of the R+L one?

Do we know why there's a new new other stage?

No idea, it's also a little odd as somebody posted an article a few pages back by the company who provide the stages, saying that the Other stage from the past two years was designed especially for Glastonbury. Seems odd to bin it, unless for some reason it didn't quite work, or somewhere else wants it at the same time instead and they've come to an agreement to let them use it instead?

Wait, what?! I've been camped out on the resale thread for so long I'm like a recently released lunatic blindly stumbling into the sun.

Theres a new other stage? When did that happen?

You have a point but the old old other was just a generic festival stage. I quite liked the old new one. Was massive. Better screens. Sound seemed better, but I'm guessing that was coincidence.

I always felt like the screens in the old new Other looked out of proportion - too small. It seemed as if they should have had massive portrait screens in place.

Yes I liked the old new one, and agree the sound seemed better, but hopefully they can keep the better sound with the new new Other, can't think how it would have been inextricably linked to the stage. Or maybe, if they're really very Other-wise now, the sound will be better still!

    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
