I think a smaller tent could work. It's rarely ever full from when I've seen bands there. It was weird seeing a band like Suede headline and not pack out the tent, for example...

Looking at some of the company websites that supply these things, 6 pole down to 4 pole would changed the capacity from just shy of 12,000 to just over 8,000. So not a huge difference.

3 and a bit thousand people is a lot of people. Try fitting them in your house.

The point was more in backing up @Joshuwarr though. If it isn't often ram packed, it shouldnt be too much of an issue. FatBoy Slim may get full though. But last year he played at Blues and it was ridiculous trying to get near to hear. So for some acts it is a concern.

those would be new/current 6-poles ones though presumably?

isn't the JP quite a few years old? I'm certain I've read before that it's 8k.

going from an old 6-pole 8k to a new 4-pole which holds 8k would tally with what they said about the new tent having the same capacity.

For some reason the two pictures are showing up as different sizes but are cropped to the same scale (2x2 grid) so it looks to me like the new tent is slightly bigger overall despite only being a 4 pole design.

    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
