certainly can.

I'm not trying to say it'd necessarily be easy to do, but with most tucked up for the night and strong-ish crowd control measures around there anyway I don't see it as impossible.

It'd surely be more manageable than the park stage in the middle of the afternoon

The lack of rumours or ideas of a realistic Saturday sub, keeps leading me back to Noel Gallagher. I didn't really think he would sub, because of the things he has said before about headlining, but I'm starting to change my mind a bit. It seems the ideal slot for him, and he's actively touring as well. I could be completely wrong though.

Faithless? A lot of people would be pissed off about it, but which festivals have they actually been put lower down the lineup this year? TITP? Anywhere else? V? Would that put the festival off booking them in that slot if there isn't anyone else as suitable for it this year?

So either it's a 'special guest' slot - I don't think it can be ruled out just yet - or I reckon it'll be an overseas act, as there always seems to be much less info floating around about them.

was gonna throw Macklemore in as a suggestion for this but seems he's playing Roskilde on the Saturday so that's out!

edit: oh no wait his actual date hasn't been confirmed, so still a possibility i guess, as shite as it'd be

yep, and appears to only be doing smaller festival headline shows this year. could always pop up at Glastonbury, but i doubt he will

He has, but things might have changed since then. Noel does talk of lot of shite. I'm not convinced it will happen, but it just seems like an obvious and suitable booking.

It won't happen. He's headlining plenty of festivals on his own, he doesn't need it.

I have a feeling it will be Kendrick*. Yes he is an exclusive, but The Who had a gig in Paris last year.

Didn't someone say he had an American fest inbetween Glastonbury and his only European dates this summer? I'm sure I read that.

I still don't think it's enough to rule him out. Glastonbury would be a huge deal for Kendrick and give him some massive, mainstream publicity in the UK. I'm sure he'd be willing to hop back and forth over the Atlantic if it meant playing in a prominent spot at Glastonbury live on the BBC.

I agree with you, in theory it shouldn't be enough to entirely rule him out, but he was in the same situation last year and didn't play, and he wasn't being advertised as an exclusive at another UK fest last year either.

Also he didn't have a single song broadcast from his performance at Reading last year, so the last point about BBC exposure would appear not to be a going concern for him.

Although a small part of this might be me insistently trying to expect him not to play because I'm not going this year and would be gutted to miss one of the all-time great Glastonbury sets
