I thought Warbies was and is the standard all bread is compared against.

Warbies and Holands pies. The 2 institutions of bread and pastry type foods.

Warburtons make banging crumpets though.  That is without dispute.

They can be a bit dry though. Which is the excuse I use to lather butter and honey all over them.

EDIT: Damn you bastards for dragging me into this off-topic nonsense.

OK I'm reinstating the Adele-at-teatime-as-headliner-with-Radiohead-ending-the-night theory and I'm going to call this new slot "sublining"

Adele and Radiohead back to back so that Adele can school Thom and the lads in how to write a successful James Bond theme.

Can we have Carly Simon turn up and show them all how it's done?

Pretty sure Gazza already uses that term for subheadliners.

I remember in 97 , I was watching TV at a friends house and watching Radio Head making some amazing sounds, It was that moment when I realized I must go to Glastonbury, and I have still never seen them live.

so that would be my dream

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
