I could read anything or nothing into the Adele clip - any and every band/act denies they are doing it when they are doing it or not doing it. Personally I think she would stick to the agreed timetable of telling the world if she were lined up to do it.

I see no reason to think she is not doing it as nobody else is on the rader to do it instead.

eFestivals had Coldplay down as TBC last year, I believe. I'm guessing the fact that he was wrong is why he's so reluctant to upgrade Adele from SR.

They have though. Those 'headliners' that played second to last? They were subs. Yes, even The Pixies and Smashing Pumpkins. They were never  advertised as headliners and didn't play last.

They didn't headline.

They don't, but a Radiohead headline set which I'd expect to be 2hrs will still interrupt a 'other sub ' slot and the added time to get round to the pyramid.

Yes but we knew before announcement day that the Coldplay thing wasn't right... What I mean is, have we ever been expecting someone specific to be announced right up until the announcement and then had a total shock that no one has seen coming?

They were the People's Headliners.

      What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.

      Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......

      I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
