I was referring to new music too. Every year we have new Roses music, defo this year, absolutely certain. Never happens.

What concrete proof do you have to be 99% sure?

Nothing 'concrete' as such but new music is on the way, that's all I will say. Would also add that I've heard that there is going to be a small show, not unlike that done at the Warrington Parr Hall after they reformed, which will be during March, however that is much less 'concrete'.

Hahahaha, nothing concrete but 99% sure. You'll forgive me for not exactly getting excited.

I've honestly never met any fans quite like Stone Roses fans. I'm never sure if they are just trolling but come on, you can't be saying 99% certain and then not offering a shred of evidence other than 'new music is on the way, that's all I will say'

By the same token, Slade are subbing Coldplay at Glastonbury. 99% certain of it.

Where's this? Everywhere saying between £55 and £125 I've seen. Is there a better breakdown?

Might be being silly but can't see any prices on that Ticketmaster link? Just timings of the various sales.

Edit: Ignore I see it now! Thats including fees but still a LOT...

But then can't imagine that's definitely correct as it outlines a flat fee. Surely it will be tiered prices in some way shape or form?

I don't need to forgive you, I'm not trying to convince you  Let's just wait and see.

As for the bold bit, I can do what I like I'm afraid! Whether you choose to believe it or not is your choice mate, but in all honesty I have no credibility, I'm a stranger on a forum with relatively few posts. Just feel free to quote me in April if no news is announced by then, and conversely, know that I have at least some credibility if (when) it turns out to be true ^_^. Back to the subject, I can't see them doing Glastonbury personally but I have no idea on that front I will admit.

Iron maiden are unlikely because the lead singer who was educated at Oundle private school thinks glastonbury is too middle class for him to play there

Oundle school:

You cant help where your parents send you to school.

You can help the hypocritical statements that come out of your mouth though.

I dont think where his parents sent him as a child, and what his opinions are now, can be called hypocritical.

Do you agree with everything your parents thought when you were a child?

Is Frank Turner going to send his kids to Eton?

He's the CEO of an airline company. He was privately educated. And he wont play glastonbury because he scornfully dismissed it as being too middle class.

How much are Rihanna tickets? I think maybe acts are getting a bit too greedy these days. Blur at Hyde Park last year didn't sell out... Quite a few of my friends were excited to go to that, until they saw the price of the tickets!!

Edit: what I'm getting at is - if the tickets were cheaper would her shows be selling better?

Rihanna I presume will have a young audience (in the main). Plenty will will be under 18. Who is going to pay for them?  A lot will need accompanying. Asking families to shell out for 2 tickets is a lot of money (I don't know how much they were though)

The Hyde Park prices were a joke, which is why they had to take a massive hit and sell off the thousands of unsold tickets dirt cheap  (disguised as a face saving charity initiative) just to get people through the gates.

Haven't seen the pricing for BST this year, would be interested to know if the prices are still sky high and whether people have wised up and are waiting for the drop.

Privately educated is neither here nor there. That is slightly out of his control! If you are using that as a measure of someones suitability, Im guessing you hold that against people like Frank Turner and Emily Eavis then. His schooling and his opinion are two completely separate things and its ridiculous to think one should dictate the other. Again, Joe Strummer?

Hes CEO of his airline company? And? What does that have to do with it? Its a title. You can be a CEO of a chip shop if you wanted to be.

Sorry to say, but you're fighting a losing battle there, mate. There are some posters on this forum who are perfectly happy to judge a person based purely on one detail of their life, regardless of whether that detail was a result of their own choice or not.

Taking myself as an example, I looked round 3 secondary schools with my parents when I was young. My favourite one was a nearby state school, but my parents preferred a private school. They sent me there despite my own opinion, and I hated every minute of my 7 years there. However, based purely on that, some people would label me as 'middle class', 'posh' or 'privileged' regardless of any other details of my life, and use it as an excuse to dismiss my opinion on anything.

Apparently, snobbery is a crime, but inverse snobbery is perfectly reasonable!

The teeny tiny difference is frank turner and emily eavis havent scornfully dismissed the festival for being too middle class.

I've never got the term "Inverse snobbery".  Like "reverse racism", it's just "snobbery" or "racism".  Bullshit either way you cut it.

P.S.  Now I know about your private school education, I shall view you with distrust from now on. ;)

I know many people who were SENT to private school.

Many, like you, hated it.

I will never critisize anyone for  a decision they had no control over........ tis as bad as moaning at people about where they were born - as if they had any choice in the matter!

haven't you complained here repeatedly about the white middle-class demographic that makes up the overwhelming majority of Glastonbury attendees?

some might say you're a complete hypocrite and at least Bruce is sticking by his principles rather than being all talk no bollocks.

So basically its ok as long as you dont have a negative opinion of Glastonbury?

Of course you could then turn your point around and say that people who went to even more expensive schools are approving of Glastonbury, therefore supporting his statement!

At the end of the day, linking someones  school to what they can and cannot say as an adult is stupid.

    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
