People who wear shoes in the house disturb me. It's just not right.

I don't even wear clothes in the house (unless cold) don't see the point plus nudin' up is very relaxing. As for shoes, yeah I've always found people wearing shoes in houses a bit weird.

While we have no announcement, this dorky thing deserves posting, but not in its own thread; which music festival are you?

I got Glastonbury! Thought I'd be Latitude, obviously I don't know myself as well as the multiple-choice oracle does.

Reckon we will get anything more this week then or can I roll back the excitement a bit and finally get on with some revision

Can't see us getting anything today. If Glade said they are doing next week then I expect all the big stages will do it then as well. Shangri-La and Arcadia both said end of May as well, which doesn't leave much!

I hope I'm wrong though!

There's been a couple of people saying we may get another announcement today including Neil so who knows!

Crack on with your revision - if anything does get announced (which currently seems unlikely) and when you next check you may have a nice surprise :)

And Matt42 I seriously doubt there is a reason for it taking so long. They just have other things to do - remember, the festival isn't all about booking bands and announcing them to us :D

I got Glastonbury - although I'm not quite sure how - some of those questions were worse than some of the dissertation surveys that keep popping up on here!

I got Glastonbury, although the result was never in doubt !

I think we will get another announcement. Whether it be Silver Hayes, Beat Hotel, Shangri La or even West Holts.

I expect us to get another area poster today or tomorrow

So Neil 'knows' the Maccabees are late afternoon/early evening on the Other (see the Macabees thread)................................

Has Neil something he is reading that from?

2+2 = 47

no, I'm just passing on the info I'd heard about where they're playing.

Whatever happened to Mike99? I've been a long time reader of the forum but if he was infact a troll, he was the best one. People have to much time on their hands if they have time to troll. You would never see that kind of bollocks happen down the pub (I guess it depends on the pub.) I'm feeling old at the grand age of 27!

That tosser was last seen convincing people that the stone roses were playing on the sunday a couple of months ago.

I believed him implicitly.

I will never ever forgive him for this.

So today is the day, or so we all would like to believe! The final piece of the jigsaw in the build up to the festival when we can start planning who we are going to see, the horror at those dreaded clashes, the shock of someone that was TBC on the rumours isn't actually in the line up. I feel it's going to be a long morning of anticipation.

Oh and it looks like a lovely morning down on the farm from the Glastocam.

i heard that from Mr Flow, who I know from the past has access to good info.

I don't know if his info is good this time or not.

I thought you recently came and discredited it though? Or said that you heard that it wasn't this week?

So do you have reason to distrust his info?

I heard from an excellent source that they'd be no big announcement this week, but some area announcements instead.

Separately, I heard The Glade would be today, which I don't know to be true, but I do know it's come from someone who gets good info so I class it as more likely to be true than not.

It's all getting a bit silly now, the tickets have all gone, most of the lineup is known so what is the harm in releasing stage info now so people can work out who they want to see, any clashes etc? Tiny drip feed of information with the odd stage every week or so is just getting irritating now. Just release the thing and be done with it so we can all get on with our lives until that magic week in June haha :)

it's probably not finalised yet.

    • I don't think a whole raft of attendees who've been going every year since the mid 90s and mid 10s collectively all thinking the festival is no longer for us suggests we've all aged out of it at the same time. Something fundamental has changed and its pretty obvious what that is. The fact that theyve managed to skinny down the line up so much AND STILL get punters in is a real credit to the bookers, filling it with enough of the current thing to get the kids excited for a weekend while pulling in enough big names to make it worth a day out for the casual Florence fan etc... is impresive. Re Leeds: Annecdotally, from videos, numbers have looked tiny vs Reading, esp on the camping end of things, it would be good to know the official numbers and how much they're down from the peak sell out years

    • I mean she's never going to admit it, but of course she would do a deal...same as Labour would with lib-dems/greens if meant getting into government.
    • They probably do make more from the festival. But take a look at an aerial photo from any year - there's always a few fields that would be viable for festival related use yet are left empty. I guess they just don't want to deal with the associated hassle.
