Taking the younger brother up to Blackpool for the show, haven't seen them since Wolverhampton in 2012, how does the band hold up live in person compared to then? especially with TMW tunes in the set (which I love). Videos have looked good but prefer to hear it from those who were there, would be much appreciated.

They sound better than ever. I'm not really a massive Blur partisan, but that was a belter of a gig.

I'm away at the moment, UK correspindents, is there a real buzz going around for this Strokes gig or is everyone a bit meh? I can't figure out how people will respond

Band sounded brilliant and the set-list was spot-on. Go Out is a great openner. I did feel that the gig was worse than usual for talkers and selfie takers though, which was a bit of a pain but hey ho.

Most of all I'm glad that no one was hurt when the barrier decided that it had had enough though.

Good gig last night, spoiled somewhat by the barrier breaking. Damon did not seem best pleased "Is there an expert? Cause none of you look like experts?" A lot of momentum was lost and took a while to get back.

Judging by the Glasgow setlist they had to cut three songs from the show, all new ones, gutted Mirrorball had to be jettisoned.

Complete non-event other than the odd person hoping to get cheap tickets!

That was excellent. Aside from a few dicks in the crowd who decided to talk loudly over the new tracks then start forcing people forward like they're in a scrum (typical Wales) when a song they knew came on. They seemed to leave the area midway through mind, someone must have told them to do one.

Damon forgot the words to Song 2, or so my mate tells me. I didn't notice but I wasn't listening out for it.

ah, cheers Tom. Interesting, I still think their last album was their strongest, but yeah, I can't really see the m being much of a large draw these days, reckon their stock is pretty low.

    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
    • If we are guessing then I think it's   Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls   Weezer   The All-American Rejects
    • Everyone who was there has said how amazing it was so makes the excitement grow even more.  The XX and actually Kneecap were both very good too.     Roll on 3 weeks time
    • Fallow year merch not for me... I'm not interested in celebrating this occasion - in fact I think it's stupid 🙂    Covid wiped out 2020 and 2021 so we should have another year or two before the fallow, in my opinion.  Probably a bit late to change their minds now though!
