Weather thread 2015

Corking morning in the midlands. It was a mild evening, chilly clear night with a lovely big full moon and has opened up to be a belter. Shame I have to sleep through it really.

Met office satellite showing that that shift in the jetstream is looking better still, pushing the cloud north and I think the old azores finger might be giving us a tickle as the month moves on :)

Accuweather and Festiweather are both looking good too although i know things can drastically change. Always better to come flying out the traps though rather than limping.

Nice weather is of no use to us at the minute.

I know that it doesn't work in terms of probabilities, but nevertheless getting the rain out of the way just now is far preferable to the dreaded possibility of peaking too soon, when you end up looking at what you could have won from the perspective of a Worthy Farm that looks like the Somme.

Can this be changed to show the dates of the festival, currently only shows the next 5 days.

The weather charts only go up to the 20th at the moment and even that is a very low confidence sort of thing mate so any sites predicting the weather beyond this point are a combination of guess work and averages etc.

Edit: sorry so what i was trying to say is the met are quite uncommittal when it comes to long range forecasts.

odd. yesterday it was showing festival dates, now just showing next 5 days which isn't of much use.

What was the weather like in the build up to 2010?

Sure it was nice for more or less the whole of June wasn't it?

It was warm for all of june, because pretty close to the festival (maybe 7 days before) people were predicting the weather to break on the Wednesday.

Plenty of time for a mini-peak this weekend and a dip in the following weeks before we hit the big peak over the Glastonbury weekend.

I'll take the current weather in London for all 5 days please.

Not true at all.

Hypothetically, say it pissed down all day every day between now and 8am June 24th, even there wasn't a drop of rain for the entire time the gates were open we'd be in for one of the worst mud-baths of all time.

And if its stays nice until the festival it increases the chance of rain

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
