It actually came out at the end of last year so may well have been discussed already, but I've been listening to Esme Patterson's album Woman to Woman, which is all written from the perspective of women from famous songs. So there's songs from the perspective of Alison from the Elvis Costello song, Billie Jean, Jolene, and so on. Pretty interesting concept.

Currents is good but probably my least favourite Tame Impala album. The Less I Know The Better is my favourite one which I hadn't heard before. Past Life is terrible.

the Wilco album was quite a surprise, especially as they haven't been playing it on tour and didn't do any of it during their Solid Sound Festival during Glasto weekend (I did the friday/day 1 acoustic gig they did there)

but check out the setlist from their Chicago gig on Friday....kicked right off with the full 10 tracks from the Star Wars album (all bar the EKG intro), before going into Handshake Drugs (which has been opening a few shows of late)....what a gig to intro the album! I hope they make that available on their roadcase release set....

It's really good though, isn't it? I shouldn't be surprised that it was but the free download and it being significantly shorter than your regular Wilco release lowered my expectations to it just being some bits that they stuck together or something but it's the real deal.

There's a whole hour and a half of it to chew through, but early indications are that the new Titus Andronicus album is a return to form.

Also loving the new Sly & The Family Stone Live at the Fillmore East boxset and the new Omar Souleyman album.
