Floating Points is apparently doing a live set according to people in another thread? I'm buzzing for that if it's true.

Will be amazing, Cascade was one of the best albums of 2024, so a live set will go down nicely!

I can't say anything yet (🙄 sorry), but I've heard a bit of a rumour about The Glade on Saturday night. If correct it will please quite a few of the team on here, and it's my Saturday night locked and sorted. 🕺

OK - further to this.... The word was Leftfield to band-headline Saturday night, but also along with a couple of DJs. The names that I've heard are Richie Hawtin & Amelie Lens. Richie has a GSH and has also been doing some shows as 30-year (😬) anniversary of Plastikman. So, fingers crossed (for me!).

Oh yes. Would love to see Richie Hawtin on the Farm. I've only seen him once (in Mykonos!) and he was great. Would love a Plastikman set. @Fishman - are you saying you've 'just' heard that RH and AL are playing somewhere, or that they're part of the Leftfield night in the Glade? It's a me thing, obviously, but I've never really clicked with Leftfield. Saw them live once and it was just a bit...tame/slow for me for a proper live dance act. But we'll see what the clash gods serve up for us.

Very excited for year two of the Dragonfly. @Fishman - if the line up is good, you'll have a right royal time under there! Sound last year was Trebor Extra Strong levels of mint.

I heard that RH & AL were part of the Leftfield night in the Glade, so I'd guess at Leftfield around 10 and then DJs to follow. Leftfield always were primarily dub influenced, so were never full pelt, but I think they are still a top live act, with the live drummer centre stage. Needs a good sound-system, of course.

Didn't Amelie Lens play Arcadia last year? She must've enjoyed her time on the farm.

Yeah she closed Arcadia on friday night and was f**king superb. One of the best dances I had on the farm last year after Justice on sunday!

HAAi b2b Ki/Ki into Amelie, with the stellar sound of the Dragonfly, was absolutely incredible. Just slightly annoying that you've then got to bomb quickly to the SEC to beat all the crowds pouring into there from Arcadia and Silver Hayes!

Yeah - that's why I was initially a bit unsure about the information. I'm still not convinced she'll be back, but then again, it was described to me a being a fun and proper techno line up.🕺

Should probably put this in the Seat-filler thread but Tickets for Good are doing discounted entry for the Friday and Sunday of Polygon Live festival in Crystal Palace Park over the early May bank holiday weekend.

You have to buy a voucher that gives you a code for 75% off the price of a day ticket, so they each work out at about £25 all in. We're going on Sunday which has Kiasmos headlining with nimino, Ame and Red Axes in support. Booked a couple of twin rooms at the Croydon Premier Inn for £45 per room so it's coming in at under £50 each for ticket and stay.

Set up looks pretty mad as they're putting two domes together for the first time, alongside the usual spatial audio speaker system and light show. Capacity is 5,000 and it finishes at 10:30pm, which is perfect for oldies like me!!

I’m well out of touch but if that is a GSH then after a Quick Look on the YouTubes a Sneijder set would be right up me and my gfs street.

as you say there’s never a huge amount of Trance and being out of touch means I don’t know the sound of 95% of the dance acts - might come back and ask for some recommendations once the dance stage posters start to drop.

Good spot - might head for the Max Cooper day. Hopefully the offer stays up for a while as only interested last minute i think

He seems to be just about the right side of cheese and techy, so if the venue and time were right, this could be a lot of fun. If he plays! I'm not a massive fan of straight up trance, especially with a lot of vocal samples etc, but a good, grimy tech trance set would be great, given that GFL have seemingly binned off psytrance 😔

KI/KI's set on The Levels was mostly trance, and because she knows how to go hard, it was ace. She was trancey on her b2b tracks with HAAi on the Dragonfly too.

@SouthbanKen - it's a glorious tradition of this, the thread of threads™️, that all sorts of genre cognoscenti make themselves available for recs, as the dance area posters drop. It's almost as exciting as the festival itself.

    • Muse will be about but the issue with Muse is that they’ll have the pick of doing IOW, BST, Glasto, R&L or big parks/stadiums.

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
