This is a problem for me too, Mez.

If you did go straight to the SEC first, what would you hit up?

I was thinking Hessle from 0000-0100h, then heading to Genosys for Blawan (clearly).

My HUGE worry is that I've been in Block9 when they've closed it to anyone else coming in. The mere thought of not getting into Genosys for Blawan and Shed fills me with cold dread. So I'm wondering if I just need to bite the bullet and scoot there just before RH piles out...

What do we think, team?

Ben

Had completely forgotten about Blawan Friday. Hoping that crowds will have died down by then? I've never really had a problem getting into the SE corner at anytime so may be optimistic...

0130h would previously have been 'peak wander' for a lot of the 'just having a look' crowd - I've certainly seen Shangri La closed to flow traffic at that sort of time, with stewards just letting a few in at a time. But, as said, I guess with the night-time spread out, there may not be such an issue.

Damnit, I was going to slowly meander over to the SEC in general once Bicep finished at 10 and sort of try and remember to get to Genosys on time, but I hadn't taken into account the fact they might shut the Block 9 field. I'm sure it will have quietened down a bit by then? Definitely for Shed.

I got in via the Craft Field on Sunday midnight in 2015, came out into Unfairground.

looking at the map the only way I can see that was possible is via the staff camping. I do remember going past fences with loads of small campervans/VW campers on the other side, and down a small hill with a dirt track. there was also kind of a wasteland area that had been fenced off. IIRC there was a security guard but he was stopping people coming out of Unfairground

even looking at the GlastoMap image before I couldn't really make out the exact route. it was my first year so I should have paid more attention really, I was just following people going through the Craft Field tbh!

before anyone asks, I was fairly sober at the time too

I'd say the SE Corner will still be rammed full of the "lets have a wander and a bop" crowd. fine most of the time, not so fine after midnight when you want to specifically see an act playing a venue down there.

Going on what happened last year If we stay for all of Radioheads set we haven't a hope of getting into the SE corner before 2am at the earliest I think. I agree with Ghostdancer, most glasto goes haven't a notion who's on where after the main stages close, apart from maybe a few of the really big names like daniel avery and jamie xx most people just wander towards the SE corner.

It's a sacrafice I'm willing to make for Radiohead though. They'll probably close with Street Spirit or Karma Police, no way am I missing that.

Sounds like you may have gone one of two ways. One is through Dragon Field. You used to be able to go that way before the queuing system came in and it comes out at the Rocket Lounge. If you stand looking from the craft field toward the path through Dragon, but instead go left and then turn right, there's a little path that goes to the Strummer Stone. You can then get through there into unfairground. The last time I got through this way was the last year Strummerville was there (2014?), but even then there was meant to be security on it, I just got lucky.

I've wondered my way into SE Corner before off my head when it was "shut" and I've never been able to tell if I was going the right way and didn't realise, if I was just really wrecked or if I did in fact find a secret entrance.

Do they pretend to be shut to keep the people traffic down? I've been four times now and I still haven't worked it out.

I think I've decided.

Still never been in the Temple and always wanted to.

Temple line up this year is shocking.

However...

I reckon that Popof might be quite a bit of fun in there to start the night off before Blawan et al.

So, I think I'm going for a tactical Pyramid position for RH, then ninja-like to:

Popof (Temple) > Blawan (Genosys) > Shed (Genosys) > Radioactive Man (Jagz's Acid House)

That'll give me pretty much unbroken 0030-0600h. As God intended.

What d'ya reckon?

No, sometimes they genuinely stop people moving - especially between areas. For example, I've seen them stop traffic for a while between Common and Shangri La, and also from Glasto Latino into Block9 (my ultimate fear!).

I'll be up at FLips, so will take my chances with the masses .... will (hopefully!) be at the last three.

I got locked out of Genosys last year (was stuck in Unfairground) trying to get into Joey Beltram at 1:30. Was allowed in around 2:15 - I think.

OK, can people STOP telling stories about getting locked out of Block9?

IT'S NOT HELPING!!!

:)

My confidence appears misplaced! These stories are giving me the fear. Though will have a SE crew wristband this year, would that help in the event of Block 9 being closed off?

I've been keeping an eye on this thread to give me some clues about what to catch as i'm not knowledgeable about electronic music these days but I was just wondering if there is any psy-trance or goa trance at Glastonbury these days?

Others might be a better source of advice than me, but James Monro plays kind of trancey stuff that I quite like. He's in Glade Lounge and Funkingham Palace, and might be elsewhere too (sorry, hard to check the A-Z on my phone!).

I'm likely to check out at least some of his Thursday set in Glade Lounge. It's a nice venue that is often under-attended!

What's your plan before Popof? Some of Radiohead, but cut it short?

Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
