i know but ticket sales haven't been great since the move and now theres more on that weekend.

With the acts they have this year they should be ok even with other stuff on that weekend. Admittedly only Libertines was a sell out but the rest did kind of ok last year

There's a definite European wide promoter war going on at present with all the big boys moving into the same weekends as each other - see Rock Am Ring, and what Festival Republic said about FKP Scorpio, and Tinderbox Entertainment when they cancelled Hove.

Did they actually sell out tho? I know at least 3 days before they played it still hadn't sold out.

Surely doing that, they are just cannibalizing each others sales? There are only so many willing to go to gigs/spend money on live music in one weekend!

You'd think BST would be run better considering how well oiled the O2 seems to be for AEG!

Yup that's it exactly and whoever doesn't sell tends to go out of the market.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
