"Glastonbury foot"

I get swollen feet and legs every year after Glasto, similar reaction after a long haul flight.

It usually goes after a week if I get my legs up on a cushion on the sofa ( higher than heart). This is Dr advice and it seems to work.

One of my big toes is totally numb. Happened before, 2007 a I think, both toes that time. Took over a week to go back to normal! Good luck with your foot.

Yep I have this, and the last time I got it was 2007 as well. I think I remember reading somewhere that it is a mild case of trench foot!

It took a couple of months to go back to normal last time.

Pretty sure it's not trench foot. The numbness is caused by compression of the superficial peroneal/fibular nerve in your foot, causing by wearing ill-fitting wellies or boots for several days.

This is the part of the nerve that's damaged:

As I said earlier in this thread, I've had this probably several times after Glastonbury, and it has always gone back to normal, although one year it took over six months (I think that was 2007).

This is even more worrying, since Glasto neither of my feet habe one of those big grey pins through them! Come to think of it im not sure they did prior to the fest either, should I see a Doctor or just cut out the middle man and amputate them myself middle ages style?

It's a weird picture isn't it? (From wikipedia)

Not sure why the foot has a massive spike stabbed through it.

I have Glastonbury foot too! Not numbness, just red and raw and bitty on my right foot. It's changing every day so definitely repairing itself. Good to see I'm not alone :)

Best thing I've found to avoid feet problems is to not use wellies, just half decent waterproof, ankle high walking boots with some decent socks. Even the cheap pair of Karrimor (which are often slated) I own have done 2011, 13 and this year. I honestly think unless its biblically wet like pre extra drainage years, there's not much need for wellies.

This x100 - good walking boots and socks not only avoid this but walking around is so much more comfortable.

another numb left big toe here, very annoying. Hopefully it will sort itself out soon

Left big toe still numb.

Same here, left big toe partially numb, have had this most years I think regardless of footwear. Has always gone away without treatment within a couple of weeks or so.
