I've always thought of the Sunday headliner as the one where all of our group get together and see out the festival at the same place. One big singalong. In recent years it's been Blur, The Verve, Kasabian, Stevie Wonder, McCartney, etc. We all go in different directions over the course of the five days but it's tradition to assemble in the same place (usually the Pyramid) on a Sunday evening, light a couple candles and enjoy each other's company before we return to our homes across the country and real life the next day. Can't see that happening if Florence plays, which would be a shame. I guess it could still work with Fleetwood Mac

You're already making me sad for the end of the festival now!

Agreed. Really hope it's not Swift, with her and Kanye it would sound more like a V Festival line-up

Swift and Kanye have each played V as many times as Blur and the Stone Roses have, don't talk crap.

McCartney wasn't on Sunday.

Or a Festival that more accurately reflects diversity of taste. Neither Swift or Kanye could be described as average by any means - they're both not only popular but acclaimed. They definitely have a home at Glastonbury.

if we`re going by populairty why not have justin beiber? you know damn well why populairty isnt all that matters.

Kalifire literally said in the post you quoted that Kanye and Swift are "both not only popular but acclaimed", please learn to read.

I think my biggest problem with Florence headlining is that arguably her most successful song is a cover. I think she's at least one (successful) album away from Glasto headline status

Na I think the "say my name" one is now the biggest/most successful one she has had now

The biggest problem is it would be a shit headliner

Never heard of it.

As somebody who doesn't listen to Florence but doesn't mind the tracks I stumble across on the radio, I'd say her biggest songs are THAT cover and Dog Days are over?

Everytime I switched on the radio for a while I heard Flo squawking at me to "say my name". It was bloody everywhere!

Yeah, Spectrum (the "say my name" one) was pretty big, certainly bigger than Dog Days are Over.

Somehow managed to shield myself from the Flo machine. Couldn't name one tune of hers and having just youtubed that Spectrum tune, it sounds vaguely familiar.

Spectrum's her only number one, although I can't remember if that was her version or the Calvin Harris remix.

Aha! Just listened to that. More familiar. Reminds me of shit nightclubs at 2am.

Florence was also featured on Sweet Nothings, a no.1-charting Calvin Harris single that Florence & The Machine sometimes play at their gigs
