I'm not sure Glastonbury is the festival for you, the artists you have vested an interest in that post aren't going to pop up very often are they

It's not all about headliners, it's a much bigger experience than just watching pyramid headliners, there's many others stages and areas to explore

Bullshit - Glastonbury is for whoever wants to go. If people want to go for the headliners then fair enough it's up to them.

I wasn't expecting all of them, or even 3 of them.

i just hoped for 1 or 2 really. I.e. Muse headline and Kendrick on another stage as head/sub.

I thought that was semi-realistic being they haven't done it for 4 or 5 years and he's on a roll at the minute.

To be fair, I'm in a similar place. Would have loved at least one or two out of The National, Leonard Cohen, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, War on Drugs, Pulp, First Aid Kit. But most aren't touring etc.

But the line-up is far deeper than any other festival. There's genuine legends in there like Moody Blues, Patti Smith, George Clinton, some acts with the best albums of last year like Run the Jewels, Caribou, FKA Twigs, Future Islands. Plus a ton of other stuff to do. It sounds a bit cliched but you'll have the best time if you don't try and do too much, relax around the less busy areas of the festival, just generally enjoy it like a holiday rather than a race....

I'm hyped about Kanye too. There's a few of us, we just can't be too loud about it or the haters will come and slag us off.

Feel free to raise the roof, at least Kanye is musically relevant and producing material that challenges and excites. If you'd asked me a couple of months ago if Kanye would be the highlight of the weekend I'd have sneered at the thought. With the evolving news that Sunday is turning into Dadfest 2015...well, I'd almost be tempted to see Kanye.

I think the person listing all them acts he'd be interested to see will have a much better time seeing none of them at Glastonbury than he would seeing 3 or 4 of them at v festival.

Saying it's not for someone isn't right but totally understand why that was said

It's my first time, so i'm not sure, but that may be the case.

When i think of glastonbury though, i imagine all the extras this festival has over the others and I actually have a lot of plans to go exploring, infact i don't think i'll spend too much time at the pyramid. But if i said i didn't want to see something amazing/big on the pyramid, then that would be a lie.

This was his TITP set last year. You can probably add 3/4 new ones in to replace some older singles but I reckon it will be fairly similar.

I saw the first half of that. It was that day that I truly understood what a " dialed in " performance was, dreadful scenes :( .

Fortunately skipped the 2nd half to see King Charles in the tent, taps aff scenes :)

Aye, if you'd got radiohead it would have been the greatest experience of your life and probably never be bettered.

Seeing one of your favourites headline the pyramid is a magical thing.

guess you'll just have to make sure you're a Glastonbury regular then! one or more of those acts are bound to headline soon enough! it's GOT to be Radiohead's turn again soon

Well Muse, Coldplay, Kings of leon, Arctics and Radiohead have all played a few times,

again, i wasn't expecting all of them. That's a list of artists i was hoping to see a couple of. I don't think that's too unrealistic in terms of expectations.

When it comes there'll be your three top picks and they'll ALL clash horribly

I'm not trying to rain on your parade just saying it's a focus that can prove unhealthy - but you'll quickly get over it. Wait for the clashfinder and see how busy you end up then at least double it, just getting from a to b you miss so many things and end up having a great time

I reckon we'll see Town Called Mallice in there. I guess the idea of it being a sub slot does give it the extra time to chuck in a couple more Jam songs.

Yes, looks like i'll just have to do that.

Who knows what surprises might come up yet though. Maybe i'll get lucky with some of my less bigger artists.

I see where you're coming from because I wanted someone huge (in my eyes) on the Pyramid for my first year. Luckily I got Arcade Fire but my memory of that is fairly sketchy! Them aside I barely spent any time at the Pyramid and had the best time at so many other stages/areas of the festival. You'll have a whale of a time dw

the lineup is great! who were you expecting / hoping for?

Personally I think the lineups' very good, with a few additions in the coming weeks it could be great. It's a shame that none of the Pyramid Headliners or Subs appeal as it stands but there'll be plenty elsewhere to keep me happy.

This.

The last couple of festivals for me have been clash hell on the Friday. The headliners across the site on Friday alone in 2013 was a crushing choice, 2011 I was able to spend every hour of the Friday with something I really wanted to see and still managed to miss just as many acts that I would have been happy to cross the site for.

I've been in years where there have been less than a dozen acts on the bill I was massively keen for and had a great time though, both with alternative entertainment and finding new music I enjoyed, so despite my disappointment with how Sunday is looking on one stage I'm still well up for a good time this year.

I'm having second thoughts about Kanye, I was very much looking forward to it when it got announced but ever since Mothership have been announced I've been absolutely torn between the 2. All of my group are ecstatic about Kanye and I can't get excited anymore, not sure what to do.. Any Kanye rant would send me straight over to West Holts.

When i've seen it on TV, it is moments like these that obviously stand out, because the epic shows make for good coverage, and i hoped i would get that.

I was probably being naive hoping i might get it on my first outing.

i'm still ecstatic over seeing Kanye, but the Mothership being on at the same time is definitely a huge pisser! if only it could've been on the Sunday

I am of the opinion that none of the best bits of Glasto are on the television (or translate well to television). You'll have a great time. Give the playlists a rinse or two before you go to check out some of the great acts you might not have heard of, then go for a wander when you get there.

    • I too am always a bit blurred on what/who constitutes a legend slot but would Sting fit that bill?  Those there said his IoW slot was v good and he has enough of a songbook imo for a Sun afternoon if he uses the Police's 1st 2 albums for a fair chunk of it
    • Thing is, I'd have said that as well.   But then she inexplicably ended up on the Wilderness lineup and that changes everything. I reckon if that goes well, which it will, then she's very much in the picture.
    • This has probably been discussed a hundred times already on efests but what constitutes a legend? I know some of it is my age but I don't see eurithmics or Duran Duran as legend status. Neil young or nils lofgren then yes and neither of them have overly troubled the charts. Duran Duran and indeed the eurithmics I would put in the 80s category and whilst it would be ok (human league at isle of wight we're fabulous) they just arent in my mind legend status.  Zombies played same festival- i would take that.
    • friendly tonight delayed , pitch draining pretty quick to be fair .... not sure it bodes well for other games with potential fixture backlog
