you've got to wonder who Glastonbury originally had in mind / lined up that's caused all of this mess. must've been a damn late drop out for them to go fishing for acts booked elsewhere

if it was just a headliner, then i could understand, but 2 last minute acts seems more like nothing was booked and it was a panic.

Got to say, I wasn't too chuffed with the line-up when first released - this hasn't helped at all.

Might actually go and see Kanye. I quite like at least one evening at the Pyramid but, dear god, Pharrell before him???

Actually, Weller/Pharrell/Florence, has there ever been a worse trio subbing Pyramid?

Pharrell isn't sub

"The conditions are disgusting aren't they?," he continued. "I don't know how people can... I mean, you'd have to be off your box to stay there for three days wouldn't you?"

"I'm not a big lover of festivals at the best of times, I like proper gigs… and it's just really corporate now isn't it?"

Can you guess this one? From September 2014.

"Festivals have become totally over-priced; they’re all about charging 900 quid a ticket so these rich parents can send Jemima and Tarquin for a nice weekend away. "
“I watched a bit of Glastonbury on BBC for the first time in my life this year – I literally forced myself to watch five minutes of Metallica without vomiting.”

yep it's pretty weird. perhaps they were even gonna give somebody like Prince a mammoth headline spot (he likes his three hour shows, doesn't he?) and when he pulled out they needed two acts to fill the gap

This makes sense, and Alt-J being a weaker / Primal Scream to the Stones style sub? Even though they aren't really that weak of a choice?

tbh it doesn't really add up because The Who + Weller including breaks will be well over three hours, but just a thought! something has definitely gone amiss with this Sunday night headliner. somebody fucked them over royally - i fail to believe that they had nobody in mind until a month ago

I wouldn't expect anything else from a man who was banned from the festival for 15 years...

The things people say when they can't get a gig at a big festival.

I used to be quite into the mod scene but The Who and Paul Weller have about 7 songs between them that I've heard and haven't just gone 'meh' (that includes Jam songs). Maybe I'm just a stuck up twat like Tarquin.

This was his TITP set last year. You can probably add 3/4 new ones in to replace some older singles but I reckon it will be fairly similar.

God I barely even know the songs on that list - take away the 3-4 well known ones and that'd be terrible. Pyramid sub is a time to do the greatest hits, and honestly if he did that it could be a good fun set. But we know it won't be.

Even morrissey in 2011 played his well known tracks both solo and smiths, and it's not what you'd expect from him.

They put on a decent show but they're probably the most derivative band I've ever heard.

They probably are but loved them in JP in 2013. They have the energy, swagger and attitude that the other bands mentioned forgot they had 30 years ago.

Besides, nowt wrong with a bit of derivative guitar led rock music. I appreciate this is a bit like a man complaining about feminism or a white person complaining about racial equality, but given the plethora of dance acts at Glastonbury, a little more geetar always cheers me up.

    • Do people want an arena experience though? Especially for sub par bands. Rather a band do more nights at an independent venue for more money than 1 big one.

    • Hey everyone! My friend and I are heading over from Sweden to Tramlines this summer. We had our eyes on a bunch of different festivals in the UK, but since most of them sold out before we even knew if we’d be able to make the trip, we finally settled on Tramlines. Why Tramlines, you might ask? Well, because we’re absolutely crazy about British music, and finding a festival like this (where you also don’t have to camp, a huge plus) made it impossible not to buy a ticket. The fact that I’ll also get to see The Enemy after beeing a fan for 19 years didn’t hurt either.   Since the app doesn’t work over here… is the Clashfinder schedule 100% accurate? What’s the venue like, and what does the map look like? Which sides of the stages are best to stand on? How long does it take to walk between stages? What are the prices usually for food and drinks? Is it easy to get to the festival from town? And is it easy to get back into town? Is it allowed to walk around with a beer anywhere in the venue, or are there those stupid fenced-off bar areas? As you can tell, I need all kinds of info, so please share your best tips and tricks to make this the best festival experience possible.  I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! 😃
