It's taken over forty years and countless experiments with so-called media partners but Michael Eavis has finally found the perfect way to release important information about Glastonbury. Instead of press releases, tv and radio interviews, websites, social media or even printed flyers, Michael has decided to simply pass information on to the first person he bumps into when he goes shopping and assume it will all just be passed on accurately from there.

Of course he has.

Ahhh. New tangent for the thread!

Blue Jays have started well. Two good wins and a good outing for Dickey in game 2 of the series against the Pinstripes, despite the loss...I'm hopeful of a good year, and at least some post-season action.

Ben

Not sure how much of a marker beating the worst Yankees team in 30 years or so is. I expect the Sox to make the playoffs; think the over-achievers in Baltimore are your biggest threat to the post-season. Have you seen the way Adrian Gonzalez has started the season?! FFS!! That guy's trying to get all his work work in before the mid-season break for Glastonbury. Edited by jimmyt

So, should we expect to hear anything in April?!

Probably. What we were told had lots of uncertainies within it to make it all a bit vague, which is why it's not been repeated here.

We may or may not find out more about timescales tomorrow, when we get to talk to various top-bods at the bands competition.

Hi All

I've been following this thread for some time now, but this is my first post - so please be gentle with me! I met the Vaccines last night at the Rugby Tavern in Holborn London- the lead singer Justin confirmed they are playing the other stage on Friday. Obs they're not big enough to headline, but possible sub or 3rd down?

Hopefully you manage to get some concrete, repeatable information!

Hodgson played once didn't her, thinking 2004ish

I mean he

Don't think he's ever played Glastonbury.

He's been playing live almost non stop since about 2007 now though and would be perfect for a headline slot on the Acoustic Stage or an afternoon slot on the Pyramid. Think back to Willie Nelson a few years ago.

As for Supertramp, he fell out with them when they reneged on a gentleman's agreement to not perform his songs at their live shows.

They still play his hits and they form about 30% of the set which is a shame really as Rick Davies has some great songs himself and Mark Hart who sings Roger's songs is a woeful singer.

Hodgson has started playing festivals too and does have a Glasto shaped hole in this summer's schedule.

I'm crossing my fingers in hope.

Welcome!

I know they played early on Other a couple of years back and then later on Pyramid the year after (2013 / 2014?) so only seems right they can sub Other at this point! If nothing's clashing I'll go check 'em out!

Great username by the way, fantastic album!

    • I don't think a whole raft of attendees who've been going every year since the mid 90s and mid 10s collectively all thinking the festival is no longer for us suggests we've all aged out of it at the same time. Something fundamental has changed and its pretty obvious what that is. The fact that theyve managed to skinny down the line up so much AND STILL get punters in is a real credit to the bookers, filling it with enough of the current thing to get the kids excited for a weekend while pulling in enough big names to make it worth a day out for the casual Florence fan etc... is impresive. Re Leeds: Annecdotally, from videos, numbers have looked tiny vs Reading, esp on the camping end of things, it would be good to know the official numbers and how much they're down from the peak sell out years

    • I mean she's never going to admit it, but of course she would do a deal...same as Labour would with lib-dems/greens if meant getting into government.
    • They probably do make more from the festival. But take a look at an aerial photo from any year - there's always a few fields that would be viable for festival related use yet are left empty. I guess they just don't want to deal with the associated hassle.
