New tent, you say? Care to post some NSFW tent porn? I've been scouring the internet for something cheap and decent for a few months now, but it doesn't seem I'm going to get both, it's either one or the other, or neither in many cases.

Mrs Woffy ordered it as she does not have my capacity for slumming it in a 25 quid Asda job like what I does.

Now...just give me a second whilst i get into BonTory character...ahem...here goes:

Meh meh meh I earn a pretty decent wage meh meh meh so it's ohhhhh soooo rather expensive.

Aaaaaaaaand, back in the room.

It was £170.

I'll get her to send me a link in a minute and i'll post on here.

I like the idea of buying one of the expensive ones, as in I could probably budget for a bit and justify it for the amount of use I'd theoretically get from it, but then the £12 Aldi job stares at me to remind me of my roots. The faithful old bastard has put me and others up for many a festival, always been great, the downsides are that I don't fit in it properly and it stinks. All I need is pretty much the same tent, but a little bit bigger, but they're all in the £200s. I think that pretty much every night I lay my head in the tent, I'm absolutely steaming drunk, it's only a matter of time before I spectacularly fall and write it off, if I'm in the £12 job we'd laugh and write it a beautiful eulogy, if it was a top banana one I'd be distraught.

Have you got round to reminding Mrs Woffy that no matter how posh the tent, she's still sleeping on the floor in what's essentially a canvass bag with your drunken snoring and farting? Spot on with the Bon impression, sometimes I wish he'd come back to entertain us.

At least you might escape the trap that is the conference in one go. Wrexham have been down here for years, and we don't look any closer to escaping than the season we were relegated.

I'm a Luton fan, don't miss that place one bit! Really hope you guys get out soon, every season I'm convinced you'll do it...so many teams in that league who could easily be League 1!

Actually even better
  • Ringo Starr – vocals, drums, percussion, keyboard on "Don't Pass Me By"
  • Steve Lukather (Toto) – vocals, lead and rhythm guitar
  • Gregg Rolie (Santana and Journey) – vocals, organ, keyboards
  • Todd Rundgren (Nazz, Utopia and The New Cars) – vocals, lead and rhythm guitar, bass guitar on "You Are Mine", percussion on "Bang the Drum All Day", harmonica, keyboard on "Love is the Answer"
  • Richard Page (Mr. Mister) – vocals, bass guitar, acoustic guitar on "You Are Mine"
  • Warren Ham (Bloodrock and AD) – vocals, saxophone, percussion, keyboards
  • Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth)– drums, percussion, backing vocals

Had to upvote this to balance some miserable sod.

Went to see Todd Rundgren a few years ago, he's an oddball and no mistaking. Don't expect the hits, or at least a noticeable version of the hits if he ever plays.

Steely Dan on the other hand would be great, though very unlikely.

Infact, thanks to that Donald Fagen post, I'm gonna put Aja on now.

See I'm gagging for some Jason Lytle, me.

But he gets no mention anywhere round these parts.

Whats his solo stuff like? Sophtware Slump is a favourite of mine. He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot is a fucking beaut of a tune.

*Switches Aja off, puts on Grandaddy*

Re: Conor Oberst

Yes. He was a complete prick when he headlined JP and called John Peel an old coke head, not in a jokey manner, possibly the first year that stage was named in his honour. If he IS asked to play, I'll be demanding answers...

If Conor Oberst isn' booked in some form I am going to be demanding answers

Hopefully with Desaparecidos...seen as though he's working with them again..I'd be all over it.

    • I don't think a whole raft of attendees who've been going every year since the mid 90s and mid 10s collectively all thinking the festival is no longer for us suggests we've all aged out of it at the same time. Something fundamental has changed and its pretty obvious what that is. The fact that theyve managed to skinny down the line up so much AND STILL get punters in is a real credit to the bookers, filling it with enough of the current thing to get the kids excited for a weekend while pulling in enough big names to make it worth a day out for the casual Florence fan etc... is impresive. Re Leeds: Annecdotally, from videos, numbers have looked tiny vs Reading, esp on the camping end of things, it would be good to know the official numbers and how much they're down from the peak sell out years

    • I mean she's never going to admit it, but of course she would do a deal...same as Labour would with lib-dems/greens if meant getting into government.
    • They probably do make more from the festival. But take a look at an aerial photo from any year - there's always a few fields that would be viable for festival related use yet are left empty. I guess they just don't want to deal with the associated hassle.
