Just can't see those numbers at all.I can see both Foos and Kanye pulling far bigger crouds. Going to be Kylie anyway.

Repeat after me, I should be so lucky

Lucky,lucky, lucky......

100k? Stones, Stevie, Chems, Bowie, Levs.

V few have made those kinda legit numbers at the G.

i saw stone roses at IOW was probably the best show I have seen Tbf. I didn't think Ian's voice was to bad some notes wasn't quite there especially when he sung "goolllllddd" but it didn't matter- there was a great energy musically brilliant loud and visually was superb as well.

Fair point, my point was more around the fact that there is no way stone roses would pull 100k (or Foos or Kanye). Just that Foos and Kanye would pull more than Stone Roses easily.

Anyway, do the locomotion with me....

Kanye will have a big crowd, Foos will have an even bigger one, but The Roses would pack that field.

Wouldn't bet against the Foos pulling 100k, to be honest.

I reckon they will pull a massive crowd, not sure if it's gonna be Rolling Stones territory but should be pretty decent....it will be interesting who else is headlining Friday tbh

Look at the Glastonbury crowds running to another stage to songs outside of the three you mentioned (and this was just Ian Brown by himself!)

they'll headline obviously and they have acquired a sort of legendary status in rock history... but damn his voice is shite.

I don't know about 100k but if the other Friday headliners are Rudimental, Catfish & the Bottlemen (though I think they'll sub rather than headline) and Caribou as has been suggested then I doubt it'll be too far off it.

surely not

Mmm. I mean I don't think it's wholly likely but I wouldn't say it won't happen. They're MOR enough that a lot of casual music fans would be happy enough popping along to them for a pleasant jolly, especially if there's nothing especially spectacular elsewhere.

Bit silly predicting Pyramid crowd sizes until we at least know who's headlining the Other though.

EDIT: as has been said.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
