Silently changing the subject from stone roses

But is the lack of announcement due to the purple one being in discussion with Miss Evis about TV coverage? A bit like Rolling stones??

Could be a factor ;-)

The TV coverage isn't part of the deal, pretty sure the BBC have to negotiate that separately.

Cheers. Certainly interesting. I'm siding with Stone Roses slightly over Prince atm, although it changes fairly often :P

Don't know if i'd bother seeing either, mind.

Yeah cheers for that hope those 3 points consolidate your comfy mid table finish

So, I took a proper look at The Roses live videos on Youtube there. I thought they were pretty bad. They sound really flat live and the lead singer has an awful voice, I didn't realise quite how bad he was live. Not much energy on stage, just sort of all bunched up in the middle standing around.

Yes, I'm sure it's brilliant in a field packed with hardcore fans for a comeback gig but lets be real, I'd wager the majority of Glastonbury would know Fools Gold, I wanna be Adored, maybe I am the Resurrection. It'll be another Gorillaz.

They were around before I was born so I can't look at them with rose tinted spectacles, maybe I don't 'get' the whole Madchester thing, but from an impartial musical and performance point of view, they seem shit to me.

Well a friend of a friends brother down the pub says you're all wrong! The Sunday headliner is actually Madonna and the line up will be announced at 2pm on Thursday the 8th April.

Now he had to be right because he was drinking Brothers!

    • Thom Yorke will be releasing new music this year. Would be amazing to have him (his 2019 Tomorrow's Boxes tour was stellar). Ed O Brien can also play a small set. Could be lovely.   Can see Fontaines DC headlining next year (if Mad Cool doesn't get them). Is Raye edgy enough for this? She's amazing live but maybe not a 'Primavera name'?   Hoping for a return of Run The Jewels (rumored to be working on something new?) Fred Again is a good shout as wel.
    • Other than the very challenging hours of the storm (and PS's terrible mismanagement), I thought weekend was fantastic. Main highlights on Thursday - Blood Orange and Ahadadream>>Bambi>>BenUFO run at Plentitude right after the storm which were all a blast, Friday -  Avalanches DJ set (only played for an hour but could've continued for another two as far as we were concerned), The Cure (amazing show and his expression right at the end of the show which was caught on screen was very special) and on Saturday - Baxter Dury (seen him twice before but he has become a real performer, band was tight too). We accidentelly bumped into him in the VIP area later and he was so humble and modest and generous to us that I completely fell for him) and Smerz (especially the last 3 songs). Also loved BCNR at Parallel62 on Sunday. Crushed to have missed Overmono. Can't wait for next year.
    • well, the attack was in a republican area...
    • huge interpol fan here and saw them a lot but cannot recall they did Primavera Barca the last 3 years?
    • I love Interpol but also a bit bored of them being on the lineup every other year.    Radio Dept were announced for Pitchfork London in November...
