Thought my hopes for P***** were over then! All this Tom Waits talk though has now got me thinking he would be great for West Holts. RHCP's have dates in Europe and are free from 22nd June. Can see them possibly headlining the Other Stage. Still hoping Primus will play seeing as they are in the UK at the right time and will be free. Doubtful I know but I'd love it.

This is terrifying if true

edit: Thank god it's not

no chance. i know it was supposed to happen with Metallica last year, but RHCP are a festival headliner or nothing

Yeah I guess you are right. I can sort of see them headline Other like Metallica were going to before getting bumped up. For me they are both about the same as far as 'size of a band' goes but I'm not sure if they they would be up for it as I guess they would only see themselves as Pyramid headliner or nothing. Mind you, they once did a mini gig infront of the old BBC building so maybe they would do Other. I just don't know anymore... Beach Boys to headline!

Just realised my mistake. They are not on tour. It's the Pipers. Maybe they will headline!?!

The wild dogs cry out in the night

As they grow restless longing for some solitary company

Solitary company?

Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti

Rises above a nature reserve / area over 200km away despite having it's own nature reserve to rise over...just like a far smaller mountain in a different continent doesn't.

Genius, Winslow, genius.

Are you Charlie Brooker IRL? My mind automatically imagined him saying this.

For you maybe sir. Personally, I'd quite enjoy seeing them again. It's been a while.

Yeah just re-edited my post. It's Pipers that I saw not Peppers. And to ad to my fuck up I posted an incorrect link. I'm on fire!

Depeche mode are a fucking beautiful band but they aren't big enough to headline Glasto anymore. Think they are probably other stage headliners now... They need darkness right?

too big for Other / i don't think they'd go for that. they're another band who have a huge cult fanbase but would go down like a lead balloon to the casual viewer. last year seemed like the closest we were gonna get but then it didn't pan out - i don't see it ever happening now

Michael is still involved but Emily does the majority now, I believe.

Emily and Nick are involved in the running of the festival and booking the Pyramid stage, but most of the other stages/areas are completely booked by other people.

Michael seems to be involved in the organisational stuff but very little with the music side.

I'm not so sure about that. I'd be staggered if Michael doesn't have a major say in at least the Pyramid headliners.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.

    • Knocked Loose have been announced for Wacken, that's them at Bloodstock as well   I think they'd headline over Malev
    • I hate tradmill running with a passion lol. Yeah the 1km reps are the one along with hill reps. That's what I did last time.  It's very a very hot summer and job circumstances to stay at the consistent level I was for the marathon earlier in the year. I've got a full set of the main distance new PBs this year. 10k isn't a problem most days but even today I went out deciding just over 5 mile was enough between recovery cruise and steady.
