Headliners 2015

I am sadly at the wonderful hotel of the NHS, next to snorers and people who enjoy screaming and lots of machine beeps. Anyhows, I have made the awful error of listening to Tom Wait - Closing Time. If it was never mentioned here, I would have been blissfully asleep. Instead, I am sat in this bed, listening to the beeps of machines, loud snorers and people screaming. What an error!! A beautiful error.

I prefer the timing of spanish festivals personally. Off the top of my head last year i missed royal blood and jonny greenwood because they were on too early for me to get myself organised for. I like that in spain most artists are at night and you get good/suitable artists after the headliner. I can remember seeing LCD Soundsystem at about 3am after Basement Jaxx and The Chems after LCD another time.

I wouldn't generally change glasto for the world but I'd love to try it one year with acts on some main stages from 3pm-3am (headliners between 11-1) rather than 11.30-11.30ish. No mass exodus after headliners or overcrowding at 'late night' areas as some big 'dancey' subs, or even someone like the XX, play 1am-3am? Could never happen though.

• Coldplay
• Sabbath
• AC/DC
• Fleetwood

I'd say it'll be one of

• Stone Roses
• Taylor
• Radiohead
• Kylie

Of those I'd say the most polarising would be Taylor. The biggest surprise would be the Roses. And the safest bet would be Radiohead. Narrowing it down to Kylie I think, reaction wouldn't be too negative but likewise not overwhelmingly positive. But certainly no petition led frustration or joyous excitement I wouldn't expect.

As someone who used to work on a hospital ward, you have my utmost sympathy. Your post almost makes me feel nostalgic.

As much as I want this to be right, so I can go back to being a bit more productive in general, I'm not entirely convinced. Sunday seems a very odd day to drop the initial announcement. I finish nighshift at 9am, though, so it'll be no hardship to just have a quick check.

I do agree, I was convinced it was going to happen Wednesday/Thursday just gone...but you never know.

Off to bed, we'll see in a few hours I suppose. Have a funny feeling just because of the source, and for like you say going back to being more productive in general
