Oi,you lot!

When did it become ok to start bandying P*****'s name around willy nilly? You know he's a sensitive flower to all this new-age social media stuff. He probably thinks the Eavis' own this fourm and are just using his name again to generate publicity for their little garden fete.

Stop it. Stop it now. If there is any truth at all in this purple rumour, you b*st*rds can't go and ruin it now at this late stage.

Well said.

You lot have all kept me very entertained at work the last couple of days. The insanity is really setting in. The certainty amongst no credible information whatsoever is incredible. Keep it up! Except you TechBaggies :P

I reckon the lineup will actually be released on 1st April. They have done it in the past so I see no reason why not this time - it's the start of the payment window and good way to kick start it. Really it's no different to when R&L used to drop the line up as the tickets went on sale a few years back. (Or am I mis-remembering that? Only been once - never going again!)

My (& Sir Robin's - thank you for updating in my absence) post listing all the announcements since 2007 is kicking about here somewhere. Though with nearly 1000 pages I'm not going hunting! I'd love it at this point if Emily now holds back the final headliner from the poster release just to toy with us. Pretty sure this place would properly implode.

Less than 600 posts to go guys! :D

You do the weights lad?

I just have no particular interest in Prince' music or the way he needs to be so devious and offended by everything, the fact people say that the more prince is rumoured the less likely he is to play is just ridiculous

I understand, hush hush.

So changing the subject completely-

I hear a large number of twitchers might be heading to the Pilton area in June for the chance to see a rare summer visitor. Yes hopes are high for sightings of the lesser spotted Purple Warbler.

Given the Kanye reaction, if GF announce TS, they must know they'll need to brace themselves for a veritable onslaught of outrage, although most people like Swifty or are at worst indifferent, so it won't be so bad. But there'd be cries of despair from some quarters (who should be ignored). I'm hoping it's her. I want to see her more than Stone Roses, personally.

I think there WOULD be an element of surprise but how many people over the age of 20 in the UK have seen her play live? Not many. There has to be plenty of people who want to see what the fuss is about, how can this young woman be a genuine megastar? It's worth remembering that she has not come off the back of American Idol or some such bollocks. She's a self- made artist. She calls all the shots. I still only like artists who have not had it gifted to them. She's changed her sound drastically of her own accord - no different to Bowie in that respect. She's choosing the people she wants to collaberate with. We are not talking about some lightweight pop singer at all. I see lots of parallels with Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush. She's in touch with her audience like nobody I've ever seen before And that is in itself both fascinating and impressive. When did Prince, Thom Yorke, Beyonce or Madonna last have a one to one with a fan on Facebook? She has been personally commenting on Tumblr blogs all last weekend and this stuff really matters to her. Can you imagine how you would feel if your biggest music idol did that? Anyway, I think there is a big potential audience out there for Taylor and if she performs she will have a massive impact.I've seen just about every major band or artist you'd care to name ( nearly everyone mentioned in this thread for example - ELO, Blur and Stone Roses no). I need someone outstanding who I've never seen before especially after the shit time I had last year.

I've listen the The Roses albums a lot over the last two days as I've never really got into them and I'm not sure if there's enough there for them ti headline? Maybe at their peak but I'm not sure about now. I could see them being great live with a partisan crowd but at Glastonbury, I'm not sure if you'd get that. Certainly not in great numbers anyway.

    • I'm not sure about the entrance but it wouldn't be a surprise to find the festival have secured use of the land from Steanbow who own it for either new CV space, or for authorised off-site camping as they did with Worthy View.  An authorised off-site pitch-your-own with decent facilities priced just below WV would fly off the shelves as an option.
    • Burnham needs to hold onto his seat , plus needs labour to hold onto all those other seats that could go Reform, so I think some blue labour stuff might stay...and it will be back to the tactic of hoping enough left/liberal voters will get behind labour and not go Green in order to stop a Reform govt...obviously wasn't working with Starmer, but might with Burnham if he shows enough leg. Have to see, Burnham is going from a cushty job where he's very popular and seen as successful to probably the most difficult job going, prime minister of this country...and his popularity might not last long when people realise he can't fix all the problems over night. What he can do is give a sense of direction and optimism which is badly needed, but he will also be faced with a whole bunch of nasty trade offs and could be where Starmer is now in a matter of months.
    • Yep, The Cure and The xx are the two most painful misses for me this year. The Cure literally plays at every corner, except the one I attend to.
    • There’s going to be a Táncdalfesztivál thingy which is going to be some kind of retro party from the 60’s and 70’s with Hungarian acts. Not much info about it yet, but they mentioned it at the press conference when announced the 3 others.
