I go for the simplistic approach of wait until bands are announced rather spend useful time probing the text of things that Emily says.

So you spend your useful time on a festival forum like every other regular poster?

Hello. First time poster so be gentle...

Can't see the Libertines headlining, but they'd be perfect for the unannounced opening slot on the Other. They can cram all the best bits of their back catalogue into a 45 minute set and would give them a relatively prestigious slot without much pressure or the issues of headlining the two biggest festivals in one year.

As for the actual headliners I'd be up for Foos - Blur - Kanye.

I agree with everything you said

I agree with this, I convinced myself this was happening last year then rushed to the other stage first thing Friday to find Ricky Wilson prancing about, what a disappointment.

Forget Bowie i reckon, friend i was talking to today said he heard Bowie's health isn't very good atm so cant see him doing Glasto

If Bowie was playing i would 100% have gone

Bowies health has been relatively poor for 12 years.

I dont see why one act would make you go or not go to Glastonbury though. Its 2 hours from the 120 hours you would've been spending there.

I feel like Kaiser Chiefs were a bit of a rogue choice for that one.. I can imagine there was a fair amount of disappointment

Think the 'flo could headline but she isn't' comment mean that she is subbing someone, someone big enough to stop her from headlining. I'll go with Elton. Out of blur/Kanye for other spot

See the Flo thread / Melvin Benn's comment.

She's only at one UK festival this year. - Bestival

Better than to be woken by him screaming about an impending riot. Never have I got ready so fast, and with so much cursing, as I did that morning.

The audible sigh of disappointment when the Kaiser Chief's logo was unveiled onstage was an early highlight of the Friday last year.

Really pissed off I missed that. Thats absolute gold.

People standing there waiting for Prince......

Much to my amusement last year as I was watching a particularly wasted Howard Marks introduce Alabama 3 in the Glade, while a lot of my pals were stuck watching the Kaiser shites. God awful band.

My friend and I were sat in the food tent next to Arcadia (best breakfast in Glastonbury for my money), away from the rain. We heard a cheer when the banner went up, so my friend stood up to peer down the hill to see who it was, she was straining to make it out, I was badgering her "who is it? Lourde? Coldplay... Prince!?". When she realised she started laughing and just said "Wait for it", a few minutes later, I Predict A Riot started up. I was so glad to be inside with coffee and hash browns instead of outside with rain, disappointment and the Kaiser Chiefs (I bet those three things are often experienced all together).

The @secretglasto twitter feed spilled that it was The KC's, but there were clearly a lot of folk there who didn't have an inkling what was coming their way.

I was only there as it was on our way to see Turtle Island on the Pyramid Stage anyway and some of my group simply refused to countenance that it would be them.

    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
