The Pyramid can produce brilliant moments. Okay, most of the time it's about lights, lazers etc. and less about performance. But, if you get a seriously good act on there, an excited crowd etc. then it has the potential to be special.

Doesn't help much that my first Sunday headliner was Stevie Wonder, who blew the place away. Such a great party atmosphere too, felt like a fitting end to the (completely!) sunny week. Blur the year before enticed me to go to Glastonbury in the first place too, just looked like such a great place to be.

2015 will be no. 5 for me, and its true you do veer away from the Pyramid a bit (where as when I was a newbie it was a little bit more important) . In fact most of the time I'm glad to be able to go elsewhere and explore. But it's nice to have the odd headline act which causes a little bit of intrigue or anticipation, due to these 'moments'. 2015, if its Coldplay - Swift - FFs headlining, will be the first year where I know all of the bookings are safe and no 'thrills' or shocks will really occur.

As it is my first Glastonbury I am a little disappointed that I have little interest in any of the rumoured headliners.

well it was our first last year and must admit that a large part of me is gutted that I had to see all three of the pyramid headliners (2 of whom were excellent mind).

has anyone told you its not about the bands yet?

That is a shame, but on the other hand I'm jealous that you get to experience all of the site for the first time in June!

If anything I reckon it could be better this way, you get to experience as much as the festival as you want, making it better for returning years

I am beginning to tire a little of finding out there is other stuff on at Glastonbury while the headliners on. We know but we're on a long thread talking about headliners in February so we obviously too invested for the headliners to be utter shit.

I think it is a great debut album that really showed their potential. Thinking about you is as good a song as they've ever written, even if it lacks the polish and musical mastery of some of their later works.

To be honest I love all their albums in different ways, although I've still not come to love KoL I've found that sometimes a Radiohead album takes 2 or 3 years to click with me, sometimes it is instant love. I thought Kid A was the sound of them disappearing up their own backsides once, now I recognise that it has some of their best songs.

This. I love Amnesiac these days, can't abide KoL though. Just does not do it for me. Listened to Thinking of You when I had a Radiohead shuffle going on my run yesterday. Tune. I was thinking I love The Bends, but OK Computer was something else for me. I will however probably reverse this order next week when I hear The Bends again. Repeat ad infinitum.

Yeah I saw two Pyramid headliners and one Other headliner last year, but would have liked to have spent a night elsewhere. Looking likely that I'll get to do that this year, though.

I love the way I constantly read this thread, get really intrigued as to who is headlining / who should be headlining and yet I have no interest in headliners and cant actually tell you the last one I watched on the Pyramid. I think it was some of the Dross, but it was awful so I left and went to see Jarvis instead. This would however change if the Cure were announced...

I went to see the Levellers over Stevie Wonder - had zero interest in him and 100% interest in the Levs. Best Choice ever for me. Me pals however did say Stevie was ace.

the king of limbs songs are amazing live and comfortably stand alongside all their other stuff, but I never listen to the studio version. The live from the basement king of limbs album is really good though.

It was Gomez at Avalon that night for me. Like others I know a fair number of Stevie's songs, but he was never an artist who was part of my musical past in any great way. I don't regret the decision, although if I'd known how late they were going to start I'd have caught Orbital, who by all reports put in a cracking set that night.

I will give that a go if I can find it. It made me sad I didn't like it. I felt like an awesome surfer riding through Kid A and Amnesiac like a champ when most fell off at OK Computer. Still ok for HTTT, wobbled on In Rainbows and a face full of salt and sand when in sight of the beach when KoL appeared.

I'm not a big Pablo Honey fan, but Thinking Of You is one of my all time favourite radiohead songs.

Have heard it is not about the bands and I intend to get really involved and enjoy myself. Would have been nice to have at least liked one of the rumoured headliners. In fact I would rather have someone I know little about and was intrigued to experience. The fact it could be Coldplay and Foo's just leaves me cold. I have witnessed both of them from the start of their careers and they have bored me to tears.

It should be good. Have spent many a year trying to persuade friends to go and none of them have been interested. We tried last year and got nowhere in the ticket sale. This year we were determined so am hoping to make the most of it as I doubt my friends will be interested again.

nah, that's a first mention. Give it a week or two and they'll probably be stating Coldplay as a fact.

The joy of the big spectacle experience can be that the crowd are often as much a part of the entertainment as the band. I remember really loving the hits in Faithless' 2010 set, where tens of thousands of pairs of feet were stomping to the beat like an army on the march in the dusty sunshine.

That was why I was so disappointed with Gorillaz really, it had the potential to be so much more but the spark wasn't there and the crowd never really seemed to get it. From quite early on people around us were muttering, complaining and expressing confusion, before buggering off having made it a bit more crap for all around them.

That sounds arsey, I don't mean it to, I am actually intrigued. Probably because for me he is in my top 5 acts ever. When he was announced I couldn't believe it. Hw is someone me and all my mates had grown up hearing all the time.

I couldn't name five, and I know a fuckload about a lot of other music (yes Russy, I like Kasabian).

If you're basing your assessement of other people's musical knowledge on what you or your friends know then you're being very narrow-minded. I don't mean this to sound arsey, but why would you expect everyone's musical upbringing or experiences to be the same as yours?
