Can't add anything scientific to back it up I'm afraid, but somebody on here suggested Capri Suns before the festival last year. I could think of worse things to start the day so thought I'd give it a go.

I drank two pouches straight down each morning as soon as I got up and it worked a treat every time. I felt vastly better within minutes so I'll be doing the same again this year.

Why do threads always get so complicated!

Either as stated on the beginning, don't stop drinking or drink plenty of water before you sleep/when you first get up! (Also if you can get hold it from one of the stalls at the festival, I find Mars Milkshake perks me up if i am feeling groggy)

My number one rule for combating that morning hangover/comedown.......get the fuck out of your tent, dont wake up and fester in there thinking about how bad you feel, as it will only make you feel 10x worse !. Get up, dressed and get moving, go for a little walk after having a snack like a breakfast bar.

Once up and washed and dressed get some proper food down and then some water, juice ect, then if that fails get a bloody mary, that'll kick the shit out of your hangover.

My 3 stage process....

1. Refresh - Wet wipe the important parts. Fresh underwear and fresh socks.

2. Replace - Pint mug full of water with one Boots multi-vitamin effervescent tablet (cheap Berocca) and one Dioralyte sachet.

3. Restart - get back on it!

An unpopular choice but excercie... I've been for an early morning swim the past couple of times I've had a hangover and it sorts it right out, saying this, I recognise this doesn't really help Glastonbury wise. I'd say nothing really helps me bar massive amounts of water & green tea if it's available, avoiding coffee at all costs (the caffeine come down is ridiculously bad when hungover), avoiding fast food (contradictory to it being a popular choice, it's makes the hangover x10 time worse and a lot more lethargic) and having an endless supply of heartburn tablets is essential, nothing worse than dying on a hangover without any heartburn remedies, I find rennies are useless so zantac, ranitidine or if you can get hold of any: Omeprazole works wonders.

I always take one solitary can of Irn Bru, it's my last line of defence in case things get really bad.

My morning hangover avoidance consists of Diaoralyte, Berocca, Bloody Mary, coffee and a greasy bacon butty. The great outdoors works wonders because I never feel quite as rough as I would at home. I suppose I drink a lot more water at the festival than i do IRL too.

(Last year I was convinced I was really dehydrated on so I slowed right down on the booze and drank loads of water and had an extra meal. Only when I got home to a real toilet did I realise that what I'd noticed wasn't a sign of dehydration, it was the violent orange colour of the berocca making its way through my system! )
