A Guy Called Matt
I am one of the decent Matt's, honest.......... Saw this on a Facebook thread. I then followed it through to another page 'Counter-Revolution' that says This time the Revolution will be televised. 2 and 2 equals anything you fancy!! A Guy Called Matt
You were one of the decent Matts, however you're now teetering dangerously on the edge of becoming one of the other ones.

Jakkkkobz
This website has Glasto down as a Prince date and the re-release of Purple Rain is out Glasto week. http://consequenceofsound.net/artist/prince/

MichaelsBeard
This to me would seem far more plausible with the Glastonbury not being allowed to announce the last headliner yet due to 'contractual reasons'. More out of hope than anything though as Neil seems to be 100% certain he isn't playing.
kalifire
I get the impression Neil is open to a slim possibility that Prince might play, just that he isn't playing as things stand, based on what he knows. I might have the wrong impression, though. That 'Consequence of Sound' link doesn't look terribly official to me. craigyb31
I saw at the weekend had re signed back to Warner records to release Purple Rain for the 30th anniversary. Did make me wonder about the Saturday night headliner, plus The Sun rumour about not signing contracts before 6 weeks and a lot of people on here don't think the announcement for the rest of the line up being till the middle of May. I guess that could be me making 5 Edited April 22, 2014 by craigyb31

It's another act.I get the impression Neil is open to a slim possibility that Prince might play, just that he isn't playing as things stand, based on what he knows. I might have the wrong impression, though. When I spoke with Emily 2 weeks ago about Prince, she was quite open about the fact that the offer to prince remained open, but that she thought it was unlikely that it would be taken up.I also got the impression from what we talked about that the offer wouldn't remain open indefinitely, tho I can't be 100% on that. I'm guessing that at the point that announce the "contractual reasons" act all chance of prince is gone (if he's not included at that point). A Guy Called Matt
Ha ha, it is all part of a very elaborate ploy...... everyone is in on it, Sonishpere, Metallica everyone (except us and Neil of course!). Sonisphere ticket folks saying No comment all part of it!! Yes, I am bored and will for 30 seconds believe anything - I predict a riot! shoptildrop
Would be intrigued to see what they've said to Metallica in that case then?! (Assuming they are the "contractual reasons" act) Back up for Prince?! "Relegated" to the Other Stage if he does take the offer up - but that would then impact on the other acts due to headline Other... This is too much! This is too much!Given that Metallica approached Glasto about playing, and that Glasto subtly leaked Metallica to play the Other Stage over three months ago, then it seems to be the case that Metallica have no problem at all at playing 2nd fiddle to Prince, if that's what happens.Who knows, the Other Stage might even be Metallica's preferred slot, given their Soni show. eFestivals
still find it odd that the Metallica thing appeared in a copy of Q when Q haven't been an official sponsor for a few years now....why would GFL give Q the 'exclusive'...if that's what it was?if Glasto want to drop something into the press, they have to make a choice over who they'll feed the info.Given that it's very likely that there's closer top-level connections between Glasto and Q than there is anything else (because of their past official relationship), why wouldn't it be Q?
