Not a self-confirmation and not really surprising, but Erol Alkan was asked if he was playing this year and replied "perhaps..": https://twitter.com/erolalkan/status/563683836719300608

His fabric live set has been spun a massive amount of times at chez virgin . Erol alkan > Coldplay Edited by The 38 year old virgin

yeah i think a lot of people on here massively overestimate their size (thinking they could headline Other etc) - i personally think they may headline JP. West Holts would be preferable, but i don't think they're quite there yet

I would've thought Other sub was a bigger slot than West Holts, and they've done that past two times? Either way, I reckon they'll be back subbing Other.

in theory, yeah it probably is, but having a headline slot on any stage means you need to have some kind of pulling power, and i don't quite think Hot Chip would have that on West Holts. compared to previous West Holts headliners i don't think they're quite there

i'd be happy with them subbing Other again - hopefully to somebody else good on the Coldplay day so that can be my night sorted

Sharon Van Etten :D

http://halfwayfestival.com/post/110271776080/sharon-van-etten

This is what it says when run through Google Translate.

Probably 2014 years was the best Sharon Van Etten career. Released in May album "Are We There" heavily in alternative summaries messed last year. Album received critical acclaim, and Sharon started the tour in the United States and was in line pole many festivals.

In the spring of this year, for a moment return to Europe. In June, will play at Glastonbury and immediately after coming to Bialystok. As announced will be her last concert this summer in Europe.
Sharon Van Etten has won 4 plates. Also assisted vocally The Antlers and The National. In Poland, played only once, as a support ... The National precisely. So it's time for a full Sharon Van Etten concert.

It's a fair point. Were they sub other last time, subbed latitude last tour (which has been tame impala, the maccabees etc)? For me maybe it's because i saw them headline a 'Loaded in the Park' and they were a great (slightly smaller) headliner. I think they'd pack out jp, decent crowd for west holts. I'm hopping the latter or subbing the chemical brother.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
